11s0 11-Speed Chain

Wippermann has always been my go to chain. They simply make the very best chains.

The chain works like a chain should...but the removable link is incredible. I can remove the chain whenever I feel like it for easier cleaning, derailleur maintenance, and re-use the link indefinitely. I bought this chain because I wanted to wax my chain instead of the other lubes, and to wax and relax properly it is necessary to remove it. And because it is so easy to remove and I can keep it waxed, my drive train stays very clean.

I upgraded my bicycle to a 32 and needed to replace the chain. Several people said it was noisy, but I tried it anyway. I don't find it noisy at all. With the quick link, it was very easy to install.

I have begun to hot wax my chain, which is amazing by the way (!!), and the Connex link included with this chain is a virtual necessity for doing this type of thing. It allows quick chain disconnection by hand, and reuse of the link over and over. The chain works as well as a Shimano, with some noise in some gears, but nothing excessive. The longevity should be excellent what with an easy hot wax treatment every 300 miles.

Easier to install than other master links that require a tool. My complaint is neither the instuctions nor web site tell you it can be upside down. Took me 2 weeks to figure out why my chain was skipping on the 11 tooth ring. Ridiculous as you know they have to have this knowledge.

Probably the loudest chain I ever had on the bike. Other than quick link design, nothing special. The Link Alone is over half the price of the entire chain if bought separate. I returned for refund and stuck with Sram.

I changed the Shimano chain which came with my bike yesterday (after 1600 miles) and put this chain on. Seemed OK on the bike stand. When I went out for a cycle, there was an awful grinding noise when I put pressure on the pedals which stopped as soon as I took pressure off (but still turned the pedals). I stopped a few times to try and work out what was wrong, but couldn't see anything obvious. It sounded so bad, I turned around and went home after a mile. Couldn't find an obvious problem when I got home but seemed to be the chain. I put a new 11 speed Shimano chain on to check and went out for a ride. Problem solved - silent. It's the Connex chain. Checked the connex chain and it doesn't seem damaged, also read the instructions again, and there isn't a right and wrong way to put the chain on, so it must be the chain. Did a web search and found others commenting on how noisy the chain is. Will try to return it. Won't be buying another.

Dies ist die schlechteste Kette, die ich je hatte. Das Schalten mit dieser Kette ist eine echte Katastrophe. Der Verschleiß lag nach 450 km bei 0,75 %. Andere Ketten sind bei mir über fünf tausend erfolgreich gelaufen. Ein Stern nur für die Tatsache, dass es in Deutschland hergestellt wird. Ich empfehle sie nicht weiter.
