A First Sudoku Book (Dover Kids Activity Books) Review: Great introduction for kids - balances fun and challenge - I bought this for my 6 year old. The first half are 4x4 puzzles, then it jumps to 9x9. We did the first few together so I could show her how it worked and some basic strategy, and then she was off and running! She loves these -- they're just hard enough to make her think, but not hard enough to get overly frustrated. She is a little nervous about getting to the 9x9's but a lot of the numbers are filled in so I really don't think it'll be much of a leap. This book is a really nice introduction -- a good balance between fun and challenging. Review: A good starter book for someone new at game - Okay book for someone who has no clue of what sudoku is all about. Has only one page to tell you the rules and then the rest are easy to medium puzzles to do and learn. Has the solutions to the puzzles which I appreciated. I ordered a second beginners book that has more details for easy to medium to harder puzzles. Also with the solutions included. I guess I am glad that I purchased the little book first but could have gotten by without it and just purchased the second book first and learned just as much. Some people may find that the first book is the way to go when learning so it just depends on each individual’s need. My second book is also for beginners but just goes further into more complicated puzzles and how to do different levels.

Easy Beginner Sudoku Math puzzle book
Inexpensive paperback book of Sudoku puzzles for beginners. Nice to keep in the car for long rides and nice to take with you into a restaurant. Good beginner Math puzzle book.

Great for airplane ride
My 6 year old son was able to many of these on his own on the 3 hour plane ride. He needed some help with the later puzzles, but the first few puzzles got him through take off and about 40 minutes into the flight. I was happy to put my book down after that and work the puzzles with him. It was an activity that occupied both of us that i felt good about - good way to put off screen time on the plane!

Fun and educational for 6 year old
6 year old son with no Sudoku experience was able to learn and enjoy number puzzles. We did the first few together and then he was off on his own. He hasn't done the larger grids yet, but he will work these on his own when he has independent time just for fun. Good to bring along as a way to pass time sans-screen. I'm glad he is thinking critically and problem-solving as well as practicing writing his numbers correctly.

Great intro to Sudoku for kids
Bought this for my 6 year old and it was a hit. Kept him occupied, and also something fun we could do together. It's a small size book so easy to fit in my bag for on the go entertainment (restaurant, etc.) They start off easy and get more challenging. Great introduction to sudoku for young children and highly recommend.

Our son loves it!
I wanted to teach our 6-year-old Sudoku, but knew there's no way he'd enjoy it if I started him off on 9x9 grids. This is much more his speed. the 4x4 grids are a great way to introduce kids to the puzzle, and I'm so happy to have found this!

I bought this first one for my 5yr old to get her mind to expand and understand numbers better and use of thinking ability and technique. She got the hang of it right away and enjoyed doing them. I had fun too

Bought this for my beautiful Grandaughter to go on holiday as I have a sudoku book which is too hard for her but loves looking at it and this book is made for younger children and hope she gets into doing sudoku more often

Bought this as an introduction to sudoku for my 7 year old grandson, who loved to help me with my sudoku puzzles. He soon picked up the ways to solve the puzzles and amazed everyone with his new achievement. I would reccommend this book for any child to encourage them to improve their maths skills.
