D-Link DCS-8000LH Single Pack, 120-degree Wide View Angle Security Camera, Mini HD Camera with Built-in Night Vision, Motion and Sound Detection (Renewed)

Have come home several times and found the garage door open when I was absolutely sure I had closed it. I suspect another unit nearby and mine were swapping codes. I installed this camera in the garage so I could see if the door was closed by simply looking at the app on my phone. Camera picture quality is pretty good, has infrared so can see in complete darkness, and also has a microphone in case you want to listen to what's going on. Sends a "motion detection" signal if my door is opened and, although I don't use it, can send a warning if sound is detected. Was easy to set up and definitely handles the issue that I had. No more worrying about whether I closed the garage door or not.

Did not work. Was connected to another D-Link account, did a factory reset, connected to our internet, but would not connect to D-Link cloud. Returning. Do I try another? Have 2 others that work great.

I purchased this second set of security cameras for my son. I have them installed all around my house and gave my son a set to install around and inside his townhouse apartment for safety reasons. One can never be too safe.

I already owned one D-Link camera for another building. I already had the app so installation was a snap. Turn it on, scan the QR code on the bottom, and you are almost ready to go. You have to be a little patient until the wifi connects. Colors are off except in good light, but as a simple security cam, who cares? No PTZ, but that is how it is advertised so no disappointment there. The cam shows a good wide angle picture, and that works well for my purposes. Small camera body is unobtrusive. As a low-cost security cam, I recommend it.

Had to do firmware and update twice. But that’s technology. I already have the app for another camera. Works as intended to. Clear day and night vision.

Since I posted the review below DLink's updated firmware corrected the issue. Streams video well and is configured through the app. Happy with the purchase. Original post: This camera is no longer has DLink’s cloud support so detected motion cannot be automatically recorded and saved. The app still shows these as supported cameras for that feature but the AppStore description says these older models are no longer supported for cloud recording. I’ll be returning the cameras as the product details are incorrect and I purchased based on using an unavailable feature.

Very disappointed. The first one worked and connected easily, but the second one I reset 6 times and always should offline. They are very cheap and not dependable for security..maybe as a spy cam. Never received a refund after sending used security camera back.

Easy setup. Good quality. Highly recommend.

We have another one of these that we bought from best buy and this one showed up without any of the mounting hardware.

Works like no no issues easy to setup....it's been discontinued so no more wall mounts etc

Works just as well as the other three that I have which were brand new. Great little cam.

I have several of these cameras already, overall they are great, good picture quality and audio, small size makes them easy to place. However I purchased 2 of these refurbished units but only one worked.
