I bought this tree as a gift for my mother, who lives in another state. This is what she recieved. It is about 6 inches tall. She waited too long to tell me how big it actually was and that it was half dead ...now it is too late to return it. She is going to try to keep it alive in hopes she can plant it next year. Do yourself a favor .. save your money and DO NOT buy this!

This was the second tree I ordered, I returned the first one as it arrived dried out. I planted it to give it a chance but no growth in 29 days so I returned it. The second one (along with 3 others) arrived very damaged with a box marked "received open and damaged" by USPS. The second one arrived with the trunk snapped off, as were 2 others. Out of 4 trees only 1 is in good shape and will be kept.

When this arrived it didn't look anything like a tree. Sent a picture to the seller and asked if this was the correct item because the leaves that were on it looked nothing like a Japanses Maple. They assured me it was. Let it continue to grow this year and it turned into a vine! I'm having a hard time believing this was going to turn into a tree but continued letting it grow in case it did. The base of it was just tiny and green, leaves never did turn. After the first frost it started turning black at ends and then shortly after completely died.

Very delicate and a branch broke off with minimal manipulation. We will see how it does. I am babying it right now.
