Best processor I've ever had
super fast processor, easy to install, it definitely needs good cooling as it runs hot, stock fans are not going to cut it. I've overclocked mine to run at 4.3 constantly and its been very stable for the past 4 months.

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Processor (16C/32T, 72 MB Cache, 4.7 GHz Max Boost)
I haven't used this processor to its maximum capacity. Mine runs at stock around 45c to 55c. I have been told that is normal. It certainly enables the computer to boot up quicker and I am no longer having to wait for my slow iMac that had an Intel i5 chip. This one puts the iMac to bed. :)

Ryzen 9 3950x
If you are chasing multicore performance then you just can’t get a better consumer processor than this. Installation was simple but make sure you are not using a budget motherboard, even when using stock settings. AMD recommend water cooling and so I’m using with a 360mm TT AIO cooler. Idle temperatures are around 30oC which appear to be good for this processor. AMD processors run a lot hotter than intel but so far, I haven’t broken 70oC. I personally prefer to use a pea size blob off thermal paste on the processor and to spread thinly across the whole surface to maximise contact area with the cooler, I think this has worked for well me. I used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut – I don’t trust myself with Conductonaut. Overall, very happy with this purchase and no need to upgrade again for a few years.

I am sure the CPU is awesome... Mine was not.
I ordered one of these and it was damaged so I sent it back for a replacement and then the replacement was broken too! £600+ and both were broken, I will just stick to my Ryzen 7 2700X for now I think. It's funny though I have a "ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming" which is supposed to be the best board for the Ryzen 9 3950X, the BIOS is updated and I have been building PC's for more then 20 years, I have NEVER had this amount of problems with AMD before. I am very disappointed to say the least.

Blazingly fast, incredible powerful
The Ryzen 9 3950X surpassed all my expectations. It tears through multi-threaded workloads at an immense speed. It has a great single thread performance too. With liquid cooling (Corsair H100i), it keeps well below its thermal throttling limit even at full workload. I thought it looked pricey at first, but then I threw demanding work at this CPU and saw how well it tore through it. Now I honestly think they could charge £900 for it and it would still be worth the money. If you are doing any demanding tasks such as content creation, training AI, or data science, this CPU will serve you very well indeed.

One Damaged, One Immaculate
The first Processor arrived with BADLY damaged packaging and had bent pins. I returned the damaged one and purchased another one. Unlike the previous processor I purchased, the second one arrived undamaged and works like a charm.

BIOS's can be a bit of an issue with X570 Boards, particularly GigByte. C'mon guys - sort it!
Well, here we are. I spent a couple of weeks looking at all the major suspects and went for the following config: Fractal Design Meshify C, BeQuiet 1000W Dark Pro, AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, NZXT Kraken X62, ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero VIII, EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC Ultra (Overclocked), Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (4000MHZ), 7 * Samsung QVO 1TB SSD's, (RAID 0, 4 in Sabrent Caddys' in the drive bays) 2 * 1TB Sabrent Rocket Nvmes (PCI-E 4.0 in RAID 0) with some nice braided SATA cable. Many issues with the newer BIOS's such as missing usb ports - multiple boots and boot hangs. Back to 1302 BIOS and it is happy. Got 9300MBS on the Nvme's and files just disappear into the SSD's due to the cache. Now for that MS Flight Simulator...

Glorious Overkill for most uses
Yes, this chip is every bit as good as you think it is. Run multiple CPU intensive tasks all at once and still have enough power to play a game without any lag while you are waiting. There is only one downside to this however and that's the heat that the CPU gives off when running at full load - which you will want to do if you're purchasing this CPU. Otherwise the CPU is complete overkill for most normal use cases - gamers included. However for people doing real work that requires a lot of CPU resources, this CPU can't be beat at the offered price. Just don't forget a high end CPU cooler, preferably water cooling. You will need it.

Rendimiento BESTIAL!!

Excellent CPU but no game bundle from Amazon
First off, yes, this CPU was very hard to get. No time announced for when it would go on sale, broken search linking preventing the product page from being found without knowing exactly what to search for, and finally when the listing did go live it said you couldn't order it unless you went to the list of sellers and specifically selected Amazon. Very strange. To make matters worse, the product page only showed the minimal info on launch day so there was no way of knowing if Amazon was going to offer the game bundle or not. Then when they got around to updating the page with the missing info, they added the info direct from AMD implying the game bundle was included. Well, guess what, it's not. I opened a ticket with Amazon support about it and was told they received no game bundle codes from AMD and I should go ask them about it. Um, yeah, sure. And the FAQ on the AMD rewards site specifically says it's on the retailers to distribute the codes. So I and the others who managed to score one of these on launch day are out of luck there. I'm tempted to deduct a star for that but I don't want to take anything away from the CPU itself. Alright, enough complaints about the low stock, strange order process, and misleading game bundle info. The good news is this CPU is every bit as good as the reviews say it is. So far after a solid day of testing I can say it's a crazy fast compute monster that runs cool, stable, and relatively quiet on my MSI MEG X570 Unify motherboard with a Noctua NH-D15 air cooler and 64GB (2x32GB) of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 memory (CMK64GX4M2E3200C16) overclocked to 3600-18-22-22-42. The other important bits in my system build are a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case, Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 (SSR-850FX) 80+ Gold power supply, EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 (08G-P4-2081-KR) video card, and 1TB Samsung SM961 NVMe SSD running Win10 Pro 1909. You can safely ignore AMD's water cooling recommendation as long as you get a good air cooler and ensure good air flow in your case. Power consumption is amazingly low for such a powerful CPU. Sure, it's going to pull more total power than low and most mid-range CPUs but this is still an extremely efficient processor. Gaming performance is excellent. Maybe not quite as good as Intel's best gaming CPUs but close enough provided you don't game for a living. On the other hand, this thing rules the roost in video encoding. It's amazing. I do a mix of both so this CPU is the perfect balance for me.
