High-quality pot, thoughtfully designed burner
I had the previous version of this burner, and when it started to give up the ghost, I bought this. I think it is an improvement in the following two ways: There are now three cooking modes: time, temperature, and power (the mode added). I never saw the point of the time mode; you cook things at specific temperatures, which then determines how long you cook them. They also got rid of the groove around the edge. Now, it has a smooth glass surface edge to edge, and you can clean it off with ease. I cringe when I see so many burners full of areas for crud to collect. Every part of this is easy to clean. The pot actually seems quite nice, with a very thick bottom. It is not nonstick, however, and that really disappoints me, even if it is a stockpot, intended for soup and such. That is because nearly all soup recipes start with something being sautéed, such as bacon or onions, or even a package of ground beef. I checked out a *lot* of burners, and here is a summary of what I found: I bought an induction burner to try out prior to a kitchen remodel that never happened. I am disabled, and can no longer stand at my cooktop, which is solid-surface ceramic, which I despise. The first thing I learned about induction cooking is its responsiveness, much closer to gas than ceramic, regardless of appearance, when speaking about how rapidly food in the pan heats up or cools down. If you, like me, used gas for your whole life and were forced to then live with a ceramic cooktop, you know the frustration of trying to deal with something so slow to heat up or cool down. With the portable induction burner, I can sit at the table in a comfortable upholstered chair with the burner on a little rolling cart in front of me, where I can look down and see the food clearly, something I had not been able to do for years. I had been using a stir-fry pan for nearly everything for about 20 years, so it worked well to have a burner/nonstick stir-fry pan at the ready. After almost exactly a year, I noticed that food was no longer cooking well, was taking longer and longer to get to cooking temperature, and was shutting off at random. I thought that a year was a short time for it to last, so I set out to find something better than Duxtop. I failed. Not because Duxtop is perfect, but because so many others were so bad. The #1 complaint? Units seemed to stop working properly after about a year. All of them. There are some with a 4.8 or 4.9 rating, but look more closely: Nearly all of them have fake ratings out the wazoo. One of them had only two ratings from verified purchasers. So I did some calculations. The full-size built-ins seem to be better quality, but they are substantially more expensive, and given that we are elderly, dividing that cost over our expected remaining years in this house yields a much higher annual cost than just biting the bullet and buying a new unit each year. So I wound up buying a newer version of the first Duxtop I bought last year. So far, it performs beautifully.

Amazing product! Made the right choice
At my house I do not have a functioning stove top. I had been on the look out for a portable cooktop of some kind to use in place of a normal stove top. I had purchased several other cook tops, all electric or coil heating units. They never really worked well for me. They didnt get very hot, they didnt hold heat well, they couldnt actually boil water, essentially they were garbage. So I started looking around for a better option and that is when I found this AMAZING product. It heats so quickly, it is consistent, reliable, durable, and by far the best cook top I have ever used. Even compared to the stove top that is traditionally used in most places. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a great induction cook top, whether it is in place of a non functional stove top like mine or if you are just looking for an extra cook top to have around the holidays for example so you can cook many things at one time. There was also an amazing pan included with my purchase. Its wonderful for boiling water, cooking large meals or really anything you need. The only negative thing I could possibly think of is there is a high pitched sort of ringing noise it makes at the higher settings. I am young and have very good hearing so I do believe it bothers me more than most. But I am able to tune it out and its really only noticable to me while at the very highest setting available. I would purchase this again if or when I need a second cook top. Love love love this product!!

Duxtop 1800W Portable Induction Cooktop, 5.7 Quarts Stainless Steel Cooking Pot with Lid
If you’ve never cooked on an induction cooktop, you will be surprised how easy and quick cooking it is. Even heat across your pan, and I love that it’s compact, lightweight enough to take with you anywhere you have electric to plug into. RV’ers dream come true for easy cooking. Cool’s off very quickly. I love it.

Portable for summer use.
Really like this induction cooktop. Great for cooking outside. I do not like the smell of cooking oil when frying food. So when I don’t use my air fryer, I use this cooktop out on the deck. No smell or residue from deep frying indoors. Also nice to use to prepare a complete meal out on the patio next to the grill. No running back and forth to check on things. Handy for making a nice sauce or stir fry to go with the grilled food. The house stays cool and odor free, and I can visit with guests while I cook.

There’s nothing like induction!
Our Electrolux induction stove stopped working after three years. This is not as quick nor does it heat as smoothly as the Electrolux stove but it doesn’t cost thousands either. It has served us well as we are waiting for our super slow order of a new Induction stove to arrive. This is a good price for a very practical induction burner. And the pot is perfect for almost anything, for frying or boiling

Wonderful
I use this outdoors at home instead of a grill. Heats up really quickly. I like best that it gets hot enough to sear a burger or steak, which the electric grills I've used do not (my condo HOA doesn't allow gas). It also cools really quickly so you can get a nice sear and still a juicy inside - best of both worlds. Best of all, you just wipe it clean and put the pan in the dishwasher, and you're Done!

The burner gives off a terrible high-pitched sound.
Buyer BEWARE! Together, this set makes the WORST piercing sound. I tried the burner with the pot that comes with it, and several others and the burner makes a terrible, high-pitched sound. Even when the sound subsides, for children it continues. I teach kids cooking classes and after using it once, my students were begging me to shut it off. When I emailed the seller about it, they said I needed to use it with cast iron pots only. But that's not how they are selling it. They wouldn't return it, or even swap it for another. I sent them videos and still no help. After so much time dealing with the back and forth, I contacted Amazon, who finally helped me. Do NOT buy this from this seller. The attached video is with a Maviuel pot that I have used many times with my other induction burner with no problems.
