This is the chocolate bar that you need if you consider chocolate excellence a necessity. It is out of this world, smooth as silk, delicately flavored and yet the depth of the flavor is intense. A perfect way to satisfy serious chocolate cravings as it is just sweet enough but not sugary at all. The texture is divine so every bite is a pleasure. Truly artisanal and a gift to yourself and others. Treat yourself! I did and I am hooked on it. BTW, this chocolate is best at room temperature or, if cold, nuked lightly to unchill it.

The flavor was excellent. As expected for Madagascar chocolate. Unfortunately, the presentation was off as the bar was broken into tiny pieces. Probably a packing/shipping problem. I gave it as a gift so I anticipated more from an $11 chocolate bar. At least the taste wasn’t broken.

Ritual chocolate goes above and beyond with their textures and flavors. This Juniper Lavender is one of my favorites of theirs. Chocolate is smooth, juniper/lavender is integrated nicely and does not leave a gritty texture. These bars work well for pairings with a red wine, a mild goat cheese or brie on an elevated charcuterie board. It would make a great teacher or hostess gift given its quality and price point. Cons: Ritual bars are not for the overly sweet candy bar loving type.

From looking at the packaging I had high hopes. There was either a manufacturing or transportation problem. The bar that arrived had chocolate bloom which caused it to taste chalky and gave it an unpleasant clumpy mouth feel. There was an after taste of berry which suggests that it is high quality, other than the bloom in my particular case.

It’s unbelievably good. It’s not cheap but I thought it was worth it.

For dark chocolate lovers. Even at 70% and 6g sugar per serving, still has a smoothness to the texture. The aromatics are subtler for a good balance of flavors. The lavender and juniper is light and not distracting. Like how they explain their process, too!

The bar being broken and the package being damaged were not unexpected given the condition of ALL my Amazon packages there’s days. But the bar itself was not that good. Honey taste is overwhelming and the chocolate you do manage to taste was not that enjoyable. Would not recommend.
