Works as well as the one at PT
This is a compact unit that can accommodate 4 pads total at a time (A and B inputs that have 2 leads each). While it can't take as many inputs as the one at physical therapy, I'd argue it's just as powerful. The main unit seems well made, and the cords, inputs, connections, etc. seem fine, if not quite as robust as the unit at my physical therapist's office. I got frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) after a fall while skiing a few years back. The orthopedic surgeon prescribed physical therapy and maybe ONE cortisone shot (and fingers crossed to avoid surgery). Well, I started with PT, which did help, and the exercises I did at home were helping strengthen my muscles. The use of e-stim along with everything else made all the difference. It really helped relax my muscles and relieve my pain for a while after using it. Once I was done with physical therapy, I really missed the 20-30 minutes with the e-stim machine at the end of my session. That was about 2 years ago, and wouldn't you know it, I hurt my other shoulder. Well, I can pretty much tell this is the same animal (it feels exactly like what happened to the other shoulder. I pulled out my exercise sheets and have been doing those, and icing and heating my shoulder (just a little heat, more icing). No cortisone this time as I don't think I really need it now that I understand how this all works. The thing that I didn't have though, was the e-stim machine. Enter a search on Amazon and voila: options galore. But, which to choose. Well after reading many reviews and going out to search engines to read articles and yet more reviews, I decided to give this one a try. It has not disappointed me. It has 6 different options for type of stimulation and varying patterns for each of those, and then you can increase/decrease the intensity of your chosen option and pattern. So far, I can only tolerate up to intensity level 2-3 of any option. The usb charger works fine, as do the leads where you attach the pads. There are 8 pads (4 sets of two) in the box, but they are reusable (make sure your skin is clean and dry, handle the pads with care). There is a "holder" for one set of pads after use (you stick one pad to each side and wrap the lead cord around it) that will help you store the pads between uses. I actually went to the company website and purchased a second holder for the other lead cord/pads if I decide to use 4 pads. I also purchased replacement pads on the company site because I know my husband will end up using this too. So, first impressions are great. This is a wonderful tool to help with pain while I rehab my other shoulder. It will be helpful for dealing with other pain and stiffness from just working out, or just getting older, lol. If something should change, I'll update this review, but for now I'm just happy to have a tool like this that works like the professional tool available at my PT's office. Being able to do this at home saves me time and co-pays. Now, I'm not saying don't go to physical therapy/doctor if you're having pain because you may need to do exactly that. In my case, though, where I know what's going on and know my body, I'm reasonably certain of my situation and what I need to do.

I'M SHOCKED!!!! LITERALLY
WOW. WHERE HAS THIS DEVICE BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! I suffer from Degenerative Disc Disease and sciatica. Specifically, the two lowest vertebrae in my lumbar spine(L4-L5) and the top of my spine/neck trap area. I work fulltime and am a student, so the majority of my day is spent sitting at a desk. With all the COVID restrictions this past year, I like many people have become more sedentary in my day-to-day life than I would prefer. As a result, I find myself suffering from debilitating chronic pain. Up until recently, my treatment plan has been a combination of exercising, stretching, heat therapy, and OTC anti-inflammatory medicine for pain management. I have seen many different doctors/specialists over the years, and to my dismay EMS therapy was never brought up as an pain management alternative until recently. I went to my first PT session and afterwards my therapist asked if I would like to try using the EMS unit. OMG.... LET ME TELL YOU...LIFE CHANGING. I won't go as far to say it takes the pain away, because it doesn't, HOWEVER, it definitely makes a noticeable difference dulling my sciatic pain. I went home, did my research and ended up purchasing this device. I wanted something that was affordable, portable/small in size, rechargeable, powerful, and easy to use. This unit checked off all those boxes. PLUS, it included a little clip to you can attach the unit to your pants and walk around with ease. I am very pleased with this device as it has exceeded my expectations. I have only had it for a couple days, and have already suggested it to friends and family members. My only complaint, is that if you decided to change the mode while its already running(like go from kneading setting to pressure point setting) it will turn off when you select the new setting, and you have to adjust the intensity for both sides over again. Its annoying, but it's not really a problem. That and the carrying case didn't come with the newest touch model, you had to purchase it separately compared to the previous model which you could buy as a package deal. *Disclosure: I purchased this device with my own money. Upon receiving the item, the company included a coupon to register the device for a lifetime warranty(whatever that actually means), and10 free electrode pads.

Totally worth it
The effectiveness I bought this because I always get bad shoulder pain especially on my right shoulder. Unlike massage with human hands, it doesn't feel instant relief when the machine starts to hit you. But once the treatment finishes, the tension in my muscles is gone and the treated shoulder feels totally relaxed, which I don't get feel after a spa treatment. However my shoulders aren't so badly painful recently, so I might not have tested the full potential of this machine. The strength Unlike some other Tens machines I tried in the stores, the muscle contraction on this one could be very strong. I feel like this gets even stronger than the machine I was using in the physiotherapist's clinic(not saying they are exactly the same treatment since I'm not entirely sure what treatment was given by my physiotherapist.). The modes I briefly tried all of the modes. I can feel there's different rhythms, and I can see from the screen that some modes are a combination of Tens and EMS, while some are just either one. However I'm not sure if different modes really bring a whole lot of difference to the final results, or does it really resemble the massage type it claims to be (also not that it bothers me). I do have a mode that I personally enjoy the most, which is the one with two fists. Not sure if it feels like two fists pounding on me, but it feels good. The price I see from the previous reviews that some people reported short lifespan of the machine. I've only been using it for a few days, I can't say for sure how long it will last. But the machine does feel solid and well made. I've done at least 6 treatments with it and I see no signs of machine failure. After all it cost just the price of one spa treatment, or not even. Considering the price, it is simply amazing.

It works!
I have used TENS units (as needed) successfully for about 26 years. In fact I never travel without it because one wrong move can bring on horrific paralyzing pain. I wore out one unit and was prescribed a second one. Both used a 9 Volt battery and dials adjusted the mode. This last one was wearing out so I decided to search for a replacement and was happy to discover I didn't need a prescription to get one. After comparing all the options I settled on the TechCare Touch X. I use the unit for Sciatic nerve pain and a couple of weeks ago I woke up with severe pains in the lower left back and my left leg and could barely walk…I had to drag my left leg to get around the house. I opened up my new TechCare Touch X, read the instructions and applied the "pads" accordingly. I wore it all day, removed it at bedtime and applied it again the next day. The pain was subsiding and by the morning of the 3rd day, I woke up pain free! That was way faster than my old units. On the PLUS SIDE, It works! I love the fact that it doesn't need a 9 Volt battery and has a large touch screen. I also love the fact that the pads snap on to the output wires/cords. The ends of the wires of my old TENS unit had to be pushed into the hole in the pads and if I didn't get them pushed in completely I would get zapped because a portion of the end of the wire was exposed and touched my skin. On the NEGATIVE SIDE, the instructions are written too small. I have to use a magnifying glass to read them. The Pad Placement Guide isn't sufficient. If I didn't already have experience with a TENS unit, I would be confused. Luckily I had already been using an Electrode Placement Chart that I had found online a couple of years ago that shows the body, Anterior and Posterior views with Dermatomes numbered. A Dermatome is an area of skin that sends information to the brain via a single spinal nerve. The second body view shown has the Peripheral Nervous System labeled. Around these two "diagrams" are 12 smaller body diagrams with front & back views clearly showing where to place the electrodes for specific problems such as Head and Neck Pain, Knee Pain, Low Back and Sciatic Pain, etc. It would also help if a "holster" to hold the unit was either included or available as an extra purchase. There is a hard plastic clip-on holder included but it requires careful insertion of the unit because as I slid the unit into the holder, it connected with the function buttons and changed my settings. I clipped it onto my belt but it was difficult when I had to bend over since there isn't any "give" to it. I ended up buying a "fanny pack" type of belt that is made for cell phones and has a clear plastic window on it. I put the unit inside with the screen facing the clear plastic and zipped it in place. I found I could somewhat make changes to the screen through the clear plastic but I had to use a stylus for better contact and that is another thing that might be useful to be included with the unit. Be that as it may, it isn't a perfect solution, but it is better than the clip. I did have some problems with locking the screen and selecting the Mode because the Mode Icon seemed to change its position on the screen if I had to select it again....but that could be due to the fact that my pain was over-riding my brain at the time. I will do an update the next time I need to use it. All in all, it got rid of the pain and that is the most important part so I would definitely recommend this unit.

Sciatica nerve recovery
It's a great unit, it helped tremendously in my sciatic nerve recovery! If I didn't have it, I wouldn't have been able to function.

Love the tens/ems!
This is my second tens massager. My first tens massager was an AUVON brand, which work well while it lasted, but the wire was damage, and hard to find a replacement. I decided to just get a new device instead, and just try something different. This device itself is a lot bigger than my last one, being as big as my smartphone (Galaxy 8s), but just as lightweight! It also come with a snap-on casing, that allowed you to carry it by snapping it on your pant or maybe a string by your bed. The device is touchscreen so the backlight really helpful and makes the screen easy to see and touch. I wish I knew about the double-screen protector film on the device before tearing it off, but that's a small matter. Pressing on the mode, allowed you to shift through each one and the screen also let you know if it's a tens or ems massage you are working. Switching modes is a lot easier with the touch screen. So far, the system works really well and I love that this time the device came with a chart listing positioning and ailments from muscle pain to even headache!! The pad stick on well enough, and as directed I've try adding a drop of water to keep it longer lasting. (I'll keep watch to see if it last longer than the AUVON's brand kind. The pad to wire is snapped on, which is a lot easier to attached and take off without worrying about damaging the wires. It also come with a life-time warranty, which is easy to active online. Seriously, this is a really nice massager and worth the Five-Stars they are asking for.

Shoulder Muscle Knots Gone
Just the Basic Facts Specifically got this to smooth out muscle knots that develop in my shoulders from working at a computer. The unit is highly effective, easy to use, and very powerful. It's on my "Awesome $50 Gift Ideas" list. Details There are 6 different massage modes, and 20 incremental intensity levels. I get the best results by mixing up the modes sequentially. The default session time is 20 minutes, but tapping on the time remaining increases it by 10 minutes to a max of 60 minutes. Tapping the massage icons switches modes, so the interface was designed well and is very intuitive. Intensity is indicated by 10 icons, but it's actually 20 levels because each "+" click increments it by 50%. This tiny device is so powerful that this highly granular control over intensity is essential. To illustrate this point, I've used this dozens of times and a "3" on most modes is as much as I can handle on my shoulders.. I can't imagine using this anywhere on my back or legs or arms where I could tolerate much more than a "5" or "6", so for most people it will be powerful enough no matter where/how it's used. It's the same size as an iPhone 5 SE (but much lighter), so you can hook up the system, turn it on and put the controller in your pocket if you want to do other things at the same time. It charges with a standard USB cable and using it at the "3" or "4" level, it'll last >200 minutes. Its storage box has a magnetic lid and contains an ingenious way to store & re-use the adhesive pads. which are standard & easily replaced inexpensively. Final note: I had physical therapy a few years ago that used the same principle in a medical office setting, and this accomplishes exactly the same thing. To put it in perspective: this unit cost about as much as 1 or 2 office visit copays, I've used it dozens of times so it's more than paid for itself. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a simple, inexpensive way to have a device on hand at home.

Powerful, Easy to Use, Best one we tried so far
My wife has plantar fasciitis and i have some strong pain in my calves, and this unit is helping us improve our conditions considerably. Having a twin channel with 2 pads each, we mostly share the device while we sit, and twin-independent channel is brilliant. This is a strong stimulator compared to some older models we had used from different brands. The nice thing is the multiple modes and how it is flexible to select the power per each mode. I would say it is great value for money product.
