When I don’t have a little dollop of Daisy on hand, I have the Hoosier Hill Farm’s Sour Cream Powder. It’s a shelf-stable product that has come in handy more than once. Sometimes I’ll need a bit of sour cream for a recipe and don’t need a whole container, while other times I want to have some on the side with my salsa. No matter, because I don’t have to get in my vehicle and head to the store. I’m a prepper, not in the sense that I’m waiting for the end of the world, but I do like to have things on hand. I prepare for winter, minimizing my trips out, save when I need fresh produce. I’ve purchased a couple of Hoosier Hill Farm’s products and have been very satisfied. This sour cream powder is very quick and easy to prepare. According to the label, you “mix 3 parts water to 5 parts sour cream powder.” Naturally, it’s not quite as tasty as fresh is, but very, very good. After mixing, I simply chill it until I’m ready to use it. Like any powder, it can be a bit clumpy when working with it, but it smooths out nicely. It comes in a plastic container, but if you want, it can be transferred to a large Mason jar. The price is equitable as it’s so good and delivered right to my door.

I fell in love using this powder form of sour cream , as I was making biscuits and needed sour cream - I used this new to me powder form and there was no taste in difference made, my biscuits turned out the same with no change made in flavor I would definitely recommend using this compared to the refrigerator container I will be buying this again

Used this product for the first time today. The initial flavor once reconstituted has a slight cooked taste....it’s been dehydrated so that’s to be expected. It starts a tad running but thickens to a nice whipped-like consistency after 30-45 minutes. As we were making cheese danish the addition of powdered sugar covered the cooked flavor nicely. This is a shelf stable dairy product, it does not have an identical flavor profile to fresh out of the refrigerated section. However we found the flavor and texture to be quite good for a powdered product and would recommend to family and friends.

I like this for out door uses where there is no fridge, and you want to have sour cream on your food. It mixes well just follow the instruction, and there are recipes on line. Its good for your pantry and your wallet. The functionality of its purpose its great, like on home made potato chips and popcorn. It saves you money on the quantity. The size is perfect for a family of four on a monthly budget. This brand is a good quality, I have many uses for it. The package works well in the pantry and it doesn't take up a lot of space and it seals well and its easy to open.

I would give a minus 5 stars if possible. I really tried to like, or even tolerate this so-called sour cream powder, but, just YUK! I didn't have to open it until after the return date, and unfortunately instantly regretted wasting the money. The consistency as per instructions is much like a grainy glue, and by adding more powder it only gets like a thicker grainy glue. The color is a tanish color, and no matter what I've tried it is nothing even close to a creamy consistency. It's just plain disgusting. But, on a small positive note, it is most definitely tart! I got frustrated trying to make it work, even in baking, and threw it out. I DO NOT recommend this product.

Find it quite gritty Won’t purchase again

The smell is nice but tastes like it has a 50/50 citric acid to cream powder.

I ordered sour cream powder but quite disappointed that it tasted like milk powder.
