Secura French Press Coffee Maker, 50-Ounce, 304 Stainless Steel Insulated Coffee Press with Extra Screen

My husband and I absolutely love this Secura French Press. The fifty ounce size is perfect for us and easily makes five full cups of coffee or six if you pour them a little lighter. It is great for slow mornings together or when we want more than just a single cup. The stainless steel build feels very high quality and it is extremely well insulated. Our coffee stays hot for about two hours, which is a huge plus. The filter is excellent and so far we have had no issues with grounds slipping through, which has been a problem with other French presses we have owned. The only thing to be aware of is pressure. If you fill it too high and do not turn the arrow to release the pressure before pressing, the coffee and grounds can pop out. As long as you release the pressure properly, it works perfectly and is not an issue at all. Overall we are very happy with this purchase and use it regularly. It looks great, works beautifully, and makes delicious coffee. We would absolutely buy it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality insulated French press.

Extra filters included. Definitely a must if you want a small and tidy way to enjoy your favorite hot drink.

I'm an old cowboy from Wyoming. We drink coffee, even from convenience stores when trailering horses, and we're not especially picky about quality. In my long life, I have learned, though, to like French press type coffee makers, went through a bunch. By chance I found this big stainless coffee maker. IIRC, the literature calls it a 50-cup maker, but I think that's exaggerated. What I will say is, this is by far the best coffee maker I have ever owned, easy to clean, not fragile, and fairly rugged -- it's double-walled too, so it stays hot for a good long while! People say coffee is good for you (men, at least) and that means I'm in good shape now with a bright future ahead of me!

Very beautiful with a couple minor faults (in my opinion). Flawless stainless steel inside and out. Two extra screens provided. I preheated the pot with hot tap water, then dumped, added my coffee right away (course ground...and nothing worth mentioning got past the single screen into our cups...the manual suggests doubling up the screens should you desire...maybe useful for finer ground coffee) then poured in my just off the boil water. First nit to pick...the under side of the lid has an angled raised section that you, I guess, should line up with the spout when pouring. It takes up about one quarter of the underside circle of the lid....but, there is really no reason to rotate that around to the spout, because the rest of the lid does not come down far enough into the pot to prevent pouring. Here is the first design flaw, in my opinion. Why? Because heat rises and precious thermal waves are allowed to escape out the top of the pot no matter how you have the lid rotated. My solution? I doubled up a kitchen towel lengthwise and wrapped it around the spout and tucked it under the handle to block the free flow of heat. Second design flaw...it is a double walled thermos type container, but the outside walls did become warm to the touch...so...heat is escaping through the walls of the pot...disappointing as it speaks to the insulation efficiency, or lack thereof. All that being said, with my towel wrapped around the spout, a nearly full pot (probably 1250ml) of coffee stayed acceptably hot for almost an hour, which is about twice as long as my old single wall glass french press wrapped in two layers of dish towels. For the next pot, I may go to a full wrap of towels for extra insulation...I wonder if anyone makes a neoprene wrap that would fit this pot?

I love this coffee press! It’s easy to clean: I put a little dish soap in the press with water and use the filter press to froth it, rinse well and wipe down the inside of the lid and outside, super simple. It looks nice, the handle stays cool, it’s comfortable to pour and hold, I love that I can make whatever size pot I want easily, the taste isn’t effected, I’ve never had any leaking/dripping, it feels solid and durable, it keeps coffee hot for a good long while. Once I came back a few hours later and the coffee was still warm - not piping hot, but almost hot enough to not want to reheat. Mine did come with the extra filter - I saw a star knocked off someone’s review for that so I’m guessing it was a mistake they didn't get the filter. I love this press!

La prensa es un excelente producto, no altera el sabor del café. Es muy fácil de limpiar. Si quieres que el café o el té conserve por más tiempo la temperatura tienes que agregar agua caliente antes de usarla y luego desechar el agua. Es para quienes disfrutan del sabor intenso de un buen café prensado, con todo el extra que exige su ritual de preparación, que resulta muy sencillo, aunque no todos tienen el tiempo que requiere calentar el agua, agregar a la prensa, dejar unos minutos, tirar el agua, agregar café molido, infusionar el café con poca agua, dejar reposar, agregar el resto del agua, esperar unos minutos, prensar el café y finalmente servirlo y disfrutarlo. Por años usé prensas de cristal de diferentes medidas, pero de inmediato tienes que tomar el café porque se enfría muy rápido, situación que no ocurre con esta prensa de acero, el aislamiento que tiene ayuda a mantener tu café caliente por más tiempo. La recomiendo ampliamente. No es para uso en estufa.

I love this coffee press, as it is double insulated, it also keeps the coffee hot whilst it is brewing. Fantastic buy.

Simply the best. The build quality is good, this thing is solid. Nothing electronic, no plastics or unpronounceable chemicals involved. All you need is ground coffee and water. I was a bit concerned that cleaning the pot and filter would be a hassle, but it is easy to take apart and the cleaning has not been an issue. The coffee comes out tasting excellent, just make sure to read the directions for the correct amount of grains to water ratio.
