Works the first time.
Debated between this and the 3rd party for half the price. I don't regret just getting the real thing. It went together smoothly with no issue. The printer did not throw me any errors and so far has corrected my thermal anomaly issue. Worth the extra money to only have to do this once and have it work the first time.

Great drop in replacement for Prusa Mk 3s+
If you own a Prusa, expect to need a replacement hot end at some point. The factory warranty is absolutely worthless and they are out of stock for the 3s+ hot end. My printer suddenly developed an issue from one good print to the next that failed. There was excessive clicking noice coming from the filament feed gears. I did everything possible to clean the system but failed. It took two weeks of emails to Prusa who in the end offered nothing other than useless cleaning advice. I would have just gone with a replacement hot end from the start if they had any in stock and I never checked amazon to see if one was available until it was late. If you are in the same boat, go ahead and just save the pain and wasted time and order this one. Assembly was very straight forward and this was a drop in replacement for my printer. I I also like the fact that this comes with the collet clip as my original did not have one. Now for the people complaining and leaving negative reviews because they did not receive a PTFE tube with this, get real. Not only should you have your old PTFE tube but Prusa also includes a spare replacement. Stop leaving negative reviews for a product that works extremely well.

Better than what Prusa provided
After receiving a DEFECTIVE hotend from Prusa I tried working with their support and got absolutely nowhere. Upon losing confidence in their ability to resolve the issue I chose to just buy a new hotend. This hotend worked IMMEDIATELY without issue and has thus far created better prints than the one Prusa sent. The gauge of wire that is used for the thermistor is also much thicker and better-insulated than the CHEAP wire that Prusa sent initially. Three points from this review: First, AVOID buying a Prusa MK3S unless you want to spend more time chasing bugs than printing. Secondly, don't bother with their support as they won't observe their warranty. And lastly if you need a replacement hotend, FilamentOne is providing a quality replacement! If it wasn't for these guys this thing would be getting dumped on eBay right now.

Wish this had come with instructions
This does not come with instructions. Do not dispose of your old hotend before you receive this new one - you will need the old one in order to infer correct assembly of this new one. Even using your old one as a guide, it is very easy to get the assembly wrong. I initially installed the heater block upside down, neglected to install the provided plastic liner ring since it wasn't clear what that was for, and had no idea what the tiny grain-of-rice allen screws that came with this were for until I realized that you need those to lock the thinner wires into place in the heater block (that wasn't obvious even when inspecting my old heater block). A simple set of assembly instructions which wouldn't have cost the manufacturer 2 cents would have saved a lot of trouble and would have gotten them an extra star on this review from me. Having said that, it does work like a charm once you fire it up so I'll give it four stars for that.

If you have a Prusa Mk3... don't debate, just do it.
I was about to buy a whole new printer after 8 years.... Decided to give this a try. I could not be happier. Quality is incredibly high, the online instructions (you have to look them up) is very easy to follow. It fits flawlessly like an OEM product. It is on the steeper side of pricing, but you get what you pay for which is flawless print quality and incredible thoughtless printing. The thermal paste was good quality too... a lot of knock offs use cheap quality thermal paste. Not this one.

Trash
There is an image attached to this review. Look at it carefully. The red/black one on the left? That's the utter trash Scamazon will ship to you. The one on the right? That's the actual part you need. Were you hoping for a full, actual E3D Prusa kit? Too bad for you. So sad. But it gets worse: The heater block you will be shipped is of a much, much, MUCH softer aluminum, so your max temp range gets nearly a 30% cut, off the bat. You won't get the REQUIRED PTFE tube you need. The heat break will come apart in your hands; doesn't thread completely or correctly and the thermal grease/paste you get shipped is - in a word - excrement. Whatever you buy, wherever you buy it, don't get this kit if you have a Prusa. The only correct answer to all of the questions of "Will it work with my Prusa" are a hard, emphatic "F*** No". Shop elsewhere if you can. I'm ground to a complete and utter halt at the moment, since even E3D is out of thermistors. No hotend for me anytime soon.

What I needed
It was a bit difficult to stomach the cost of a full replacement assembly, but given that my heatbreak was more or less glued into the heat block by a gooey combination of stubborn PLA and PETG and as a result the nozzle wasn't sealing against it properly and slowly oozing material around the threads and onto the print, I didn't have much choice. Still, only requiring partial assembly and going through Amazon shipping is better than the cost of full assembly and shipping from Prusa overseas. After assembly (by following official Prusa instructions) and calibration, this one printed like a charm. The MK3S costs several hundred, and this is a vital part of it, so in the end, I think that it was worth it to get the proper part.
