Excellent Dizi. Research of which Key to buy.
First of all, excellent instrument. Second, here is why I ended up buying 3 of them. I first bought a C dizi, which is definitely my favorite one to play now, but at first it wasn't. Each dizi is a different size depending on the key, this includes the length of the instrument, the size of the holes and how far apart the holes are. Due to the size difference, each one sounds different too, thus the Key they are assigned (the higher the letter the higher the sound ie C has lower sounds than G). My favorite sounding one is the C, but at first the holes where too far apart for my hands and the holes a bit to big for my fingers, specially on the right hand. I was frustrated because I couldn't close the holes well enough to produce clear sounds. I really wanted to play a dizi, so I did more research on whole sizes and didn't find a clear answer. I then decided to try out a D dizi and a G dizi so see which one would be a better fit, so I bought them both. I definitely like the D and G. If your fingers are on the slimmer side, G is good to play, but because the key is so high, its more difficult to produce clear sounds (and that's coming from someone who has no problem playing a western flute). The D dizi is a really good choice if you aren't 100% sure on sound and size. It's not that hard to produce clear sounds on the D, and the wholes aren't too far apart. If you can only invest in one, I would say D is the best start. Now, if your fingers are on the slimmer side and you still want to play a C dizi, or your dizi still feels big for your hands, you can adjust your playing style and use the second joint of your fingers instead of the tip to cover the holes. This works very well for me and I actually play all my dizi this way now, regardless of size. If you aren't sure on what I mean, look up some videos on professionals playing the Dizi and you'll see that many of them don't use the tip of their fingers to cover the hole, specially the holes of the right hand. I still use the tip of my fingers to cover the holes on the left. Also, don't be deceived by your own fingers just because you are on the bigger side. I'm 5'10", 180 Lbs and the tip of my fingers are still smaller than I thought. But again, you can always adjust playing style. In summary, this is a great choice for a dizi, specially if you're just starting. Think well about what size would be a good fit for your hands and which sounds you prefer, and I think you'll be very happy with your Dizi. PS: Do some research on the membrane too.

Great price for a beginner
I've practiced for a few days now purely as a beginner to flute, but have a background in western orchestral instruments. It really is quite quality for the price and a great flute for beginners. The sound quality isn't perfect, but it sounds surprisingly nice for what i paid for. It does have it's small kinks, as it's not some master-crafted instrument, but as i said it's great for beginners, and sounds beautiful.

Beautiful Sound
I have never played the Dizi before, so I got the key of C. I found it very easy to hold. I have really long fingers so it was really easy for me to hold the instrument. If you have small fingers it may be a bit harder to hold because of the spacing and how big the holes are. I find that this instrument has a beautiful sound to it.

A Good Start...
A great flute if you’re wondering if you could play the Dizi or just want to practice. The make of the C key specifically is quite nice as is the sleeve it comes with. This is a good example of getting what you pay for in the sense that you’re getting a nice product for a nice price, not a cheap one, but also not a great one. It is a nice enough flute though, but nobody needs the little red tassel.

Seriously awful
This flute looks like something that would come from wish. It’s awfully made with the cheapest wood they could find and it sounds terrible and it’s almost impossible to learn. I should have just flushed my money down the toilet then I would at least have some entertainment. Seriously DO NOT BUY

Great for beginners
Very happy with my c key and d key dizi. I find the d key slightly more difficult to use, but both were properly in tune after standard assembly. The dimo took practice but YouTube helps a lot with that. I can't say how this would sound compared to a professional instrument but they're great and fun for a beginner

Beautiful sound , black bamboo, minimal learning curve.
No mouth guard 🥲 so have to learn lip position, beautiful sound quality, easy holes for fingering even with small fingers, comes with plenty of membrane, and a cover for membrane. Has two beautiful cases one hard and one soft. Very good value.

Mine is junk. C key.
Maybe I got a dud, but this was my first Dizi flute ever and I can play all the others way better than this one. In my opinion it is the knurls on the bamboo, too close to the #3 finger hole to get a decent seal easily with my finger, I have big hands and constantly mess up that way, which makes all the lower notes sound bad too. Also it's too breathy in the sound. very difficult for me to make a solid tone with this particular one while none of the rest of my 5 dizi and 2 Xiao do-which I consider a definitive ruling out of myself as the problem. Couple that with the knurl below the lowest hole making it even more challenging to get that one covered, and I'm not sure if it's my technique or the flute again but it makes the upper octave pitch even when I'm getting the low end I'm trying for. I'm ordering a C key Dizi in the organic jade from the same seller to see what that one is like. I have 3 from this seller, music sanctuary, and the others are great, one C key Rosewood which cost around $60 and my D key bamboo, $90. The D key is my favorite but the Rosewood is really solid and nice to play as well. I would recommend trying Rosewood for the upper register keys, or something else more solid than bamboo. I got a cheap Nicoshine G key Dizi flute and I'm not playing it at all. Considering the jade flute for that one as well. I'll update this review if I do. If you're planning on purchasing a higher key than C go for it, but I don't recommend the C key at all.

A beautiful dark flute
I loved it at first sight when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to find the right hold and I was able to play it right after the membrane was in place. The tones are clear and beautiful. I made a new tassel for it out of my favourite thread. (to make it my own) It was great that there is a protective travel case for it, makes it all the more convenient to take along everywhere.

Excelente producto.
