Great book for appealing to kids The illustrations are outstanding and the stories are outstanding to appeal to kids of various ages.

My little one is 3 and loves this books. It’s big and entertaining with great illustrations and stories for each country.

We have so many of these books and this is my favorite! The stories are fun and love that they teach about the world

My son loves Richard Scarry books, this one included. The bright, engaging pictures, along with the silly text makes for fun story time. And, as geography skills develop, so does a curiosity about the way other people live their lives across the globe. That being said, the book has some fairly simplistic, stereotypical depictions of other cultures, likely to highlight distinctions among countries and traditions. It takes some nuance to read and discuss with kids, but a fun read nonetheless.

I purchased this book for my niece's classroom (she is a teacher) I choose this book because of personal experience. I loved this book when I was a child, and now, as an adult world traveler, I find myself thinking about this book often as I recognize the world sites and costumes and remember that "I saw that Greek Soldier's uniform" or the Swiss Guard, while visiting the Vatican. This book (aside from the cute little animals) has come to life for me. Richard Scary did a wonderful job depicting these places and "people", and not only that he always uses animals that are actually in the places he depicts. This book is a treasure trove of the places that I dreamed of visiting and the fulfillment of those dreams.

ma mère le lisait à mes enfants, imitait "detective couscous" qui vérifiait qu'il ne restait rien sur les assiettes après le déjeuner, maintenant c'est moi qui le lis à mes petits-enfants, qui adorent autant. Et ma stupéfaction de découvrir que Detective couscous est devenu un personnage de films nombreux! Le livre est probablement bien plus subtil que les films! Si vous en trouvez encore, n'hésitez pas 3 secondes!

También este otro libro de Richard es encantador, muy completo, con grandes ilustraciones y un vocabulario extenso para que los pequeños refuercen su conocimiento en el idioma inglés. A mi sobrina le ha encantado El envío fue fabuloso como siempre, con rapidez

I got this book for my 2 year old son who is literally a bookworm. He as well as me are enjoying the book like anything. This is sheer brilliance in form of knowledge about the countries and their pictorial representation. 30+ countries have been represented by little very funny stories involving cats, dogs, pigs etc. Not just that, the Author has done wonderful job in representing key culture of a country, it's popular buildings, the way of life of locals in just two pages per country. More than kids it is a book to treasure for the entire family.
