Why are the bulbs flickering and flashing after being on for a minute?

Sorry you are dealing with that. I have had mine for almost 1 year (I have 20 of them) and I do not experience that. Possibly wattage or you have another device using the same circuit the fixture is wired to. I do know if I use my hair drier when the lights are on they dim. That's my issue....same circuit so the power reduces.

Would these light bulbs be suitable for a 4 light bathroom fixture?

I think they would look cool, but know the chrome dipped part completely redirects the light pattern
