Crimps are excellent and easy to make. I hate to nitpick, but as others have said the base could be wider to keep the tool from tipping while you crimp, but it isn't that big of a deal. Little tip: put the lug in and gently lower the handle so it holds the lug in place, then put the wire in. I tried a cheap hydraulic crimper before I bought this one, and the dies were not made correctly (they were metric and they wanted to pretend they magically crimp standard; but they either crimped loose or with wings). this TEMCo crimper works much better I also like how there is basically nothing to fail on this crimper. I normally prefer hydraulic, but I had a feeling the cheap hydraulic crimper would have failed eventually (it came with seals which some may think is neat, but I considered it a red flag of the quality) so to each their own. Considering they couldn't make the dies the right size I'll stick to my assumption on the hydraulic quality of that cheap crimper. Highly recommend you get this TEMCo crimper. If you are just looking into getting a crimper for larger cables, or if you've had a bad experience with a cheaper crimper like I did, get this one, you'll get good crimps with barely any effort. Just hold the tool in a way it doesn't doesn't tip and you are good to go.

The TEMCo Lug Crimper Tool is a solid, heavy-duty tool that makes excellent crimps, even with large gage wire. Wire gage size is set with a convenient round headed worm screw mechanism that moves the V shaped fixture. As a retired civil engineer building out a promaster van, I became concerned about the necessity of correctly installed crimps. Originally had a handheld hydraulic crimper that was the answer to why bother. My concerns led me to this one and I am very glad I found it. It doesn't fool around and crimps effortlessly every time. It's so easy, even your grandmother could operate it! Here's a tip: crimp with the pointed end on the underside of your lug and it will look way better. Well worth the cost! The kids can fight over it when I'm dead!

Easily crimps up to a 4/0 lug. The dial is spot on. Even though this is a manual crimp the design let me easily use it. The crimp is substantial, the wire hold is powerful. I’m totally happy with this tool.

I like this crimper over some of the others because it is brute force, no seals to leak fluid. You do have to adjust it which is a pain, but if you want consistent crimps it will do it and there is a screw on top to lock the setting. My advise is don't get carried away it doesn't take much pressure on the locking screw to hold the adjusting knob in place. also realize that not all terminal lugs and wire are the same. If you change the wire or the terminal don't be surprised if you have to re-adjust the crimper. For my use, repair and small jobs. I'm going to replace the locking screw with a long Allen screw (nylon tipped) and put a small knob on the end. this will allow for quick adjustments yet hold against vibration or being bumped in use. Not a required change just an improvement! Being adjustable you can get the perfect crimp for the wire and terminal you are using. This is a well made workhorse and should out most users. My only knock is zero instructions! Don't let "PC Janitor" fool you I'm a EE and have crimped a lot of wires over the years. Adjust the tool so it gives a good crimp when the handles close all the way and you will get solid consistent crimps from this tool.

This has been great for my projects. I can clamp it to my work table, no dies needed and the setting markers are accurate. It has a wide AWG range. The single crimp works great for me.

I run 2/0 welding cable through my car for my audio system. 2 runs front to back, then from battery to amps, so I have a ton of power and ground wires to crimp lugs to. I was using a hydraulic crimper before I purchased this one. I could barely get 1/0 lugs in the hydraulic one, not to mention that I had to change dies out to do different sizes of wire and lugs. Having to do this outside , inside, at different people's houses left a lot of room for error. Too many different parts. This TEMCo is THE CRIMPER!! TEMCo has the size adjustment right there an it. Just turn the dial to your desired size, slide your lug in, crimp. Not changing parts, no losing parts, and a great crimp every time. I recommend this crimper for speed, ease, and durability. Plus, a 5 year warranty!? No questions asked, at that! They say even if it's your fault, they replace or repair it. I love that.

Solid tool that looks like it will last generations • Simple operation creates quality dependable connections • completely adjustable to any number and quality of connectors .• because you can vary the depth of the crimp you can use connectors that are too big for your wire and not have to worry about the quality of the connection • After crimping an eyelet onto 1/0 battery cable I tried to pull off the connector with a come along I maxed out my digital scale at 660lbs and the actual eyelet started to deform and stretch , the connection was still perfect!!! *** I made a small video showing mismatched wire and connector how well it worked and then I tested how strong the joint was VOTE IF THIS WAS HELPFUL *** Thanks 1 small complaint • The base is small so the unit constantly falls on its side that being said this allows you to use in relatively tight quarters If the need arises although the overall size and weight of the tool lends itself to be used on a workbench or on the floor

It's BIG, it's HEAVY! It's EXACTLY what I needed. If you are dealing with any wire size over 2 don't waste your money on the hammer thing or the 40 ish crimp thing or even the 60ish hydraulic thing. Its expensive but you can save the money I wasted by just getting this first. Its quick and easy to use. Flawless crimps. Will be passing this down to my son and his son and so on; this thing will outlive us all.

This is a professional grade tool. I know... I'm a retired electrician. I used these in heavy industry. Costs a few bucks ..but worth it. Will last a lifetime.

Set the size and press down. Doesn't get any simpler. I wish I had this a long time ago. Great product.
