What makes this game deluxe?

This “deluxe” version is pretty much identical to the original production of the game by StrataGems. When Mattel started producing it they changed the board from its original size to a much smaller one. There aren’t more pieces to the game. It’s just a larger board and pieces. Just like when the game was originally produced. In my opinion the larger board is better, but it is an opinion.

My daughter is almost 5 years old and she loves board games. Blookus is our favorite game right now because the whole family can enjoy playing it. Rules are simple enough for kids or seniors to understand, while you can also play the game strategically.

How long does it take to play one game?

I would say anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Depends on whether you are playing 2-3-4 people and whether you give a time limit on each play. Super fun game! My 7-year old grandson played it twice with us and asked for his own game!
