Mediocre Bread Product
I used to see this item in grocery stores when I lived in the Midwest. But since I've lived in the West now for many years, and apparently this product is not marketed here, I had assumed it was no longer made. So when I saw mention of it recently on social media, I decided to see if Amazon carried it, and I ordered a can. It looks and tastes just as I'd expected. It actually has more of a cake texture than a bread texture. Taste, of course, is personal, but to me it's just mediocre. It's okay, but I wouldn't call it delicious. It's also a bit of trouble getting it out of the can. So it was worth a try, but I don't intend to buy it again.

Good if directions are followed
Not as good as homemade. But definitely a good alternative if directions are followed.

TOO HARD TO GET OUT OF CAN
I really wanted to like this because my other choice for breakfast was very pricey. I will admit the taste was good but what I had to go through to get it on my plate was just too frustrating. I took both ends off the can as instructed and tried to "gently" push the bread out with a spoon. Yeah right!!! Wouldn't move. I took my fist and pushed with all my strength and was able to get a small amount out. Today I tried again and just gave up and threw it away. I'm sure if you want to scrape it out in pieces it would be OK but that's not what I bought it for. P.S. I spoke to my sister and told her how I couldn't get it out of the can and she said take both ends off and run a knife around the bread. I'm going to buy another one and try it because it really is very tasty.

Bread. In a can. Just what I expected, lol.
Bought to share with coworkers who had never heard of such a thing, lol! They got a kick out of the novelty of it, but probably won't be reordering. It's not BAD, but it is what it is. Firm and dense, filling with a not-unpleasant flavor.

Try it with Jam
Try it with Jam, it's really good that way. By itself the bread is a bit bitter. I haven't tried it with any kind of meat because I don't think the bitterness will lend itself well to making a normal sandwich but with anything containing sugar, it is really good. It's quite moist and slices decently into circle slices. Adding this to my emergency food supply with jam. Kind of a pain to get out of the can. What I found works best is slice one side open cutting down with the can opener, cut the other side on the side so you are left without an edge on the can, then use a butter knife to go all the way around to get it to unstick from the can.

Great for my lazy Italian Wife!
Have you ever dreamed of bread so convenient that it pops right out of a can, like a culinary jack-in-the-box? Well, pinch yourself, because you're not dreaming โ canned bread is real! And let me tell you, it's a game-changer, especially for my wife, the self-proclaimed "laziest chef in Italy." My wife, bless her, believes that cooking is an art best enjoyed from a distance โ preferably the distance between our couch and the kitchen. So, when we discovered canned bread, it was like the heavens parted and the culinary gods smiled down upon us. This bread is so easy, even my wife, who thinks boiling water is a bit too "chef-y," can make it! But wait, there's more! Not only does this bread miraculously emerge from a can with the ease of a lazy Sunday morning, but it also pairs wonderfully with her other specialty โ tomato sauce made from canned tomatoes. Yes, you heard it right, canned tomatoes. Because why bother with fresh tomatoes when you can just pop open a can and call it a day? In conclusion, if you, like my wife, believe that the best Italian cooking involves as little effort as possible, then canned bread is your new best friend. It's the culinary equivalent of a mic drop โ simple, surprising, and somehow, against all odds, delicious. Buon appetito!
