This is my first time using an Alum bar so I didn't quite no what to expect. I am a head shaver so when I finished my shave for the night, I applied the product as directed. Yikes! I wasn't expecting the burn! Nevertheless I felt that my head and face were well treated. I applied my regular after shave balm afterwards. I did not rinse the Alum bar off. Myy head is still stinging. Tomorrow I will try again but rinse my head and face after applying this. BTW, the shipping and price were outstanding! Will likely order again when and if this package ever runs out.

Seams to work real good. Very good packaging with newspaper. thanks. One bar wasn't in it's plastic wrap and had a hole lnto it. hope it don't affect the longevity of the bar.i will buy again from this seller thanks.

This came with two bars and it’s been a year and the first one is about used up. I still have the second one new a still wrapped up. Good buy would pursue again.

it works perfectly well, I tend to cut myself here and there while shaving with a single blade but this product helps close those annoying cuts on my skin. Works amazing and is a must-have if you shave consistently.

It is potassium alum, so the bars do work as expected for post-shaving and antiperspirant use. But the bars are poured/pressed crystals, not cut from solid alum, so I don’t expect them to last very long. Note the telltale white middle, versus the fairly clear outer portion, plus the substantial hole in the center. I got what I paid for, but I’m still searching for the good old solid alum blocks, like my dad used to use.

I use a double-edged razor for shaving, and I use an alum block after I finish shaving to relieve any irritation and tighten my skin. I also use it to help control mild facial acne. My old alum block, which has lasted for many years, was getting a little small, so I purchased this set to replace it. This set comes with two pretty good-sized alum blocks in a plastic storage box. The alum blocks came wrapped together with a protective foam wrap to prevent breakage during shipping. Each block is almost as big as the one I’m replacing (when I first bought it), so this set is going to last me for many years. I priced several on Amazon, and this was by far the best value for the money as you’re getting two for what many vendors charge for just one. Once you use an alum block after shaving, you will never want to shave without one. I highly recommend this set.

I've been shaving for 56yrs now and only used a "Alum" bar, many, many years ago... Back then, the information regarding such products, was very thin on the ground... I've had this bar since the 6th Jan 23 now and used it only on the first nick on my chin.. A very aggressive razor, which has gone back into its' box!... I find now, I use the bar just about after every shave (With a different safety razor) ... It has as a block, been open and remained open, to the elements, amongst many shaving gear products, and still remains intact as a, solid block... When used you can feel the difference between the use of different shaving cremes, as a particular cream is very solid when lathering up and has that pleasant after smell which is good but, when the MB Herbals is used, then thereafter, I get, in particular, that shaver burn, telling me, that the shaving cream, is quite aggressive, on my skin!... When used with other shaving creams there's no burn...The good thing is MB Herbals remains and feels solid and I'm happy with the product....

I like using this product at the end of the shave.

The product does not work at all. It is like a hard smooth rock - will not lather at all. Wasted my money.
