Good but smells like dog food.

Just my opinion but Hormel just isn't very flavorful (but maybe you're supposed to add your own seasonings, that since it has a relatively mild almost "bland" or even non-existent flavor profile, it allows you to do so more properly...) This is a VERY meaty and high-quality chili, probably on par with Dennison's. Great for chili dogs. Which is exactly what I used the majority of the can for. Very tasty and meaty experience. Even the remaining bit I did not use on chili dogs was enjoyable. Again not really a fan of Hormel but I am literally ordering this variety again right after posting this. Definitely benefits from your own spices and seasonings though. But as a base for homemade chili dogs, one of my new favorites I will be keeping in stock.

This product is OK but the ratio of beans to meat/sauce is overpowering. "Chunky Beef", which is first on the can title, would suggest that beef is the main, predominant ingredient. It is most certainly not. The beans are the all-powerful ingredient in this recipe. The taste is fine but the beans are very soft which gives a mushy, and for me, unpleasant feel in your mouth while chewing. If you love lots of beans in your chili, you're probably going to like this product. If you don't, not so much.
