Very easy to use
This is a great vacuum sealer that I use with the Costco rolls of vacuum seal bags. It works very well and is basically mandatory if you want to save fish in the freezer. It is also a lot more effective than using plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn on meats. The bags end up waterproof after sealing so you can put them in a shallow bowl or something like a brownie pan to thaw more quickly.

Buy one
Works well very basic. I liked this one so much I bought a second one for my sister. If I changed anything I would request a female port to access ball jar lid attachment. As it is I have to use the male port. This replaces a 30+ year old name brand, wore it out cracked plastic. A second fancy Costco do it all self contained $300. What a hunk of junk. Never worked properly Apperantly just like it was designed to do.

Easy To Use
I learned my lesson after buying a cheap 20 dollar sealer. Didn't keep a seal and didn't work after a month. Luckily I was able to return to Amazon for a refund, which I put towards the purchase of a this better sealer. I had never used one before but now that I have a much nicer and better made sealer I doubt that I could live without one. I use it not only for freezing foods but I use the pulse feature on foods that I store in the fridge for longer life. I use to put my carrots in 2 quart mason jars in the fridge to extend their life which worked well. But now I seal them in the bags and put in the crisper drawer and they last twice as long. Also when I remove a carrot I just reseal the bag. I find if I wrap a lot of my food items in saran wrap before I put them in the bags to seal, that the bags are actually reusable as long as the raw item hasn't touched the inside of the bag. I usually wrap my large cabbage tightly in saran wrap and it will stay fresh in a crisper for about 3 weeks. I decided to try using a large sealer bag as an experiment. Normally I would leave the core and Never Wash The lettuce or cabbage before storing, you can do this when your ready to use it. This time I cut the cabbage in half leaving the split core on each just because the bag wouldn't be big enough. I sealed both halves of the cabbage and placed them into the crisper drawer. That was a month ago and the cabbage is still fresh with no browning of the core or leaves. Then I decided to do the same with my lettuce. I removed the wilted outer leaves and removed the core. Sliced the lettuce into 4 wedges and used the pulse to remove air and then seal. I used a large bag on each so when I cut the top and remove some lettuce leaves I can easily reseal the bag. My lettuce now lasts for up to 4 weeks with store bought and almost 8 weeks with my garden raised. I am discovering a whole new world and concept with using a Vacuum sealer. Now I wish I had bought one with the jar sealer att. but I bought a hand held and dry seal all of my dry goods in my 2 quart canning jars. I love this sealer and hope it lasts a long time.

Compact and the best sealer (for me) out there.
I have had many sealers over the years but this is my favorite so far. It does not feature a lot of fancy buttons or options but it does it's job with exceptional quality. Vacuum is great and seal is even better. I love the lock design because it is especially tight and makes a fantastic seal, even with some moisture coming through. It is also noteworthy to mention that this is a very slim and compact design. It could fit in a drawer, which my last 3 have not. I seal fish with this and after a long Alaska trip, I sealed several hundred bags in a single session without any issues. I thing you should know though, when sealing dozens of items one after the other, the sealer will get hot and you may accidently seal a bag before the vacuum starts. If sealing multiple items in a row, just wipe the seal bar with a moist towel to cool it off, very simple.

10,000 Stars! Fun and EASY Beyond Belief!
There are only 3 buttons: 1-"Vacuum and seal", 2- "Seal" 3- "Pulse" (do it yourself instead of the machine) So easy and convenient. This one's a no-brainer. LOVE it! EDIT: OMG! It broke. Doesn't vacuum anymore. I only used it for a week! I am so disappointed. ๐ญ

Doesnโt work with foods that contain juices ( fresh meat etc.)
Threw it away! It worked OK for the first few times and then it was not effective. Does not work with foods with juices such as as fresh meat. Donโt waste your money.

Kind of obsessed with this
I've had a sous vide for years but had perfected my ziploc bag technique. The vac sealer is so much better. Just be careful with the bags you get. I have the ANOVA roll of bags and sometimes the seal doesn't totally take (I suspect this is my fault and an issue with how the bags curl when I load them into the machine). I've noticed this when I prep meats a few days ahead of sous vide-ing, one of the bags will have air in it and no longer be sealed. I haven't had any issues when putting sealed bags into the sous vide.

Very easy to use...
I purchased an Anova Sous VIde about a year ago and I love it. You haven't lived until you try sous vide chicken breasts....yum. Everything else comes out perfect too....filet mignon is a dream. But....since then I was using ziplock bags that I purchased in the grocery story. Yes, I saw that even the manufacturer did not recommend them for sous vide and I read about all the leaching of chemicals into the food, but heck, they were inexpensive and handy. As I continued my journey into sous vide world however, I started to want to cook veggies too....and you absolutely cannot do those in a store bought bag. Also about two months ago, one of my bags broke in the water.....so I finally gave in and started researching vacuum sealers and there are a ton of them out there. After two weeks of reading reviews I settled on two brands (neither was the Food Saver) and finally picked the Anova. Part of this was brand loyalty and part was that the Anova sealer was just made for sealing. No wine bottle tube, no six buttons on top....just a simple vacuum sealer and that is what I wanted. It also had the advantage of size, it fit in the drawer I had for it. It is about the size of a wax paper box. I am now on week two and I love it. We are a small household and I am now sealing all the extra chicken etc. that comes in the packages. If you read Serious Eats you know that you can just plunk a couple of frozen vacuum sealed chicken breasts (or any meat) into the sous vide and just give it an extra 20 minutes on the timer to cook....convenience at its best. If I change my mind for any reason, I will update this post, but as of right now.....this is a great machine for the price and I highly recommend it.

Solid basic vac packer!
Full disclosure here... I've used chamber vac sealers for the last 20 years. Dip type, chamber etc. I also own a vacmaster commercial chamber sealer at home. Now... I needed one for the cottage (the vacmaster is ~80lbs... not good for travelling). For sealing meats etc when deals are good. also for sousvide and other stuff. So.... This unit does the job fantastically. Great suction, solid seals and good duty cycle (i.e. 5-20 seals at a go). No issues so far and I'm about 100 seals in. Considering Anova and the other products I have from them (support etc)... I highly recommend. Does it have a holder for bags? no. Does it have an aux port? yes! Does it have a cutter? No. The seal process relies on you clipping down both sides with physical clips... GOOD choice Anova. Does it require proprietary (i.e. only from Anova) bags? No. In summary.... worth every penny.

Wrong Voltage
It is advertised to be 220 Volts. But it is 120 Volts.
