Sure, my phone does a pretty good job at playing music with built-in Bluetooth, but I still like using my old iPod Classic in a lot of situations. Sometimes I don’t have good wireless service, but the iPod works fine. I fly a lot, and I can have my entire music collection with me on a long flight and not worry about draining my phone battery. The only thing I didn’t like was the cord. I’ve got some very nice corded headphones, but they’re still a pain to use once you’ve gotten used to using wireless. I have a battery-powered Bluetooth transmitter with a 3.5mm cable, but I wanted something a bit more “clean”. This arrived a couple of days after I purchased it, so I plugged it in and tried it out right away. I tried using it with my AirPods Pro at first. They worked fine and sounded pretty good, but they’re not terribly convenient to use with this. I have my AirPods Pro paired with my iPhone, my iPad, and my Apple Watch. To get this dongle to pair with the AirPods, I needed to turn off Bluetooth on all of my other devices because they will pair to the AirPods first. You can stop this from happening by resetting the AirPods, but then you’ll just need to pair them with your other devices later on. Fortunately, I have another pair of noise cancelling earbuds that I also like, and they pair just as well. I just use these with my iPod. It still beats carrying around a set of corded headphones. This dongle supposedly has four different codecs that you can use, but I have only been able to get the Classic aptX and SBC codecs to work. I don’t know if my earbuds don’t support the other modes, but when I try to use the FastStream or Low-Larency modes, it just goes to the default SBC codec. If I double-click the button, it successfully goes into aptX mode. I suppose that the other codecs aren’t that important for streaming music. I like that this is powered by the iPod so I don’t need to worry about charging the battery. I haven’t really noticed any decrease in battery life while using this. I’m sure consumes some extra power, but on the other hand, the iPod isn’t driving a speaker load anymore. I’ve tested this on my 7th gen iPod Classic and on my 3rd gen iPod nano. It works perfectly with both. This costs a lot more than some other solutions, but it works perfectly, it doesn’t need power, and it’s very compact.

Seamless Plug & Play between devices, sound quality is remarkable, no latency, lagging or broken signal. I’ve tested AirFly and UGreen, thou the sound was decent it was always very low and suffered from Bluetooth distortion in crowded spaces. Kokkia delivered out of the water performance for physical activities, I’ve tried my AirFly while cycling and constantly cut off. UGreen was very nice at home but in the gym it was constant disconnection or distortion. I say battery drains around 20% more than usual, I’m used to 6 hours from my 6th gen Nano and the Kokkia gave me 4 hours, not bad for a 17 year old battery. Don’t care if your kids need braces, this thing is worth every penny. * Currently using my AirPods Pro 3.*

I have been collection iPod Classics for years, up to seven now. But as I started getting into better sound I realized the beest headphones/buds are all, mostly, Bluetooth. So, I've been trying various and they all jus didn't seem right, the fact that 2 of 3 are cabled made it that much more difficult to manage, as I mostly listen in bed. One exception was the kind that looked like a little antenna, but it had really awful battery life. And awkward, and I feared too much abuse to the headphone jack. So here's the Kokkia, as it uses the 30-pin port on the Pod I knew it would be a new experience, and that it was. Slightly daunting to operate, it seemed, as I read the manual. (Yeah, guilty) navigating the five different modes seemed daunting. And the first session was since I overthought it so well. Turns out if you turn on your output device, plug the thing in, and it just works. A green light is the only indicator, it's also a button so you can cycle the modes. But the default seems to be made for Pods. A slight lag, but it's no big thing. Sound seems true and un-stepped on. A few times it sort of got out of sync with the mode thing, rendering the volume control dead. At this point I kept trying to reconnect, and a half-hour later I did a hard reboot and found the default as I mentioned. Leaving a session is likewise- one of the best things here is it draws power from the Pod- as mine are SSD the life is almost unlimited, and I still don't know how much the Kokkia draws, but it's acceptable. It's also do-able to shut things down in a simple sequence that will stop everything. I thought it would keep flashing til I acted, but to see I let it go. After the Pod powers into standby, the xmitter shuts off. (No brains involved, I definitely overthink things.) I am reluctant to use remove-replug in the 30 pin, it doesn't feel as correct as an Apple dongle, so I hope to keep it plugged in always to minimize wear. The instructions calmly say when your jack wears out, "get a new one".) One of the only other negatives I felt was the price, it's steep. I love this thing, despite the other compatibility modes it seems made for the Classic.

Wanted this, not only for bluetooth speakers, but for use with my automobiles. Will not connect with Chevy vehicles. That is the only drawback as newer model cars do not have ability to plug iPods into stereo except using GMs controller which messes up the iPod during useage. Does work great with stand alone bluetooth as advertised. That is reason for 4 stars and not 5.

I tried this adapter with my Airpods Pro and Sony Bluetooth WH headphones and any stereo song that plays sounds like the center channel / lead vocals are far away while the rest of the stereo separation is there. Huge difference between bluetooth and wired headphones. I tested this on multiple bluetooth headphones on both stock iPod OS with my 5th gen as well as Rockbox. What is great is play/pause works and volume is loud on stock iPod OS. But most songs sound like the vocals are far away. I tried hitting the button to change the bluetooth codec but it's always stuck at Standard SBC (1 blink) if that makes a difference.

This little dongle is extremely expensive for what it is, but it definitely has best in class audio quality over bluetooth from any adapter I have ever used. Still will not match (good) wired head/ear phones, even through top end BT buds, but its the closest I think they can get. Connecting to this adapter has been hit or miss, especially with Apple AirPod Pro 3s. They will work, but only when they want to more or less. The "connected" tone will play in the air pods, and then no sound for a while, and then it may or may not pop back in. It can be extremely frustrating to try and pair, and they do not reconnect very quickly at all if you walk out of range of the adapter. My other BT earphones are also hit or miss to how quickly it will find and pair with them. Also, if you're running this on a stock iPod battery, this thing will easily halve the life of your iPod. My 6.5 gen classic has a pretty decent original battery, normal use with wired headphones I can easily get 24+ hours out of a single charge. I'm pushing 12 hours with the barest sliver of red left in the battery bar from a full charge this morning right now. WHEN this thing is working, however, it works amazingly well and even passes the remote commands from the earbuds through to the iPod (skip, play, pause). This also appears to only work with certain ear buds. AirPods Pro 3 work, the Onn buds do not. Volume is a little weird, the volume of the buds is independent from the setting on the iPod. This can lead to loud music when the iPod is turned down because the ear buds are turned all the way up, and vice versa. Not a big deal, but can be annoying. The swapping between codecs/streaming modes is cool in theory, but I haven't been able to ever get it to switch to a new codec and stay switched to the new codec. Kinda just gave up on that feature. For how much this thing costs, I shouldn't be having any issues with connection or features. I'm keeping it, but only because it is the smallest adapter available with the best BT audio quality I've found. Definitely connect your earphones before you walk out the door in the morning, it sometimes takes a good amount of fiddling (and possibly a wipe of the stored devices) to get it to connect to your buds again. Until someone comes up with a better adapter/mod, this is about as good as it gets, take it or leave it.

I wanted to be able to play my iPod Classic through my beats wireless ear buds and my beats wireless, portable speaker and this little gem worked perfectly! It was almost plug and play; I just had to read directions to pair it with my earbuds. It was a bit expensive, but it was great to be able to listen to the thousands of songs on the iPod without needed wired headphones. It was easy to connect and that's saying a lot from me...a "non-techie" person. The design of the transmitter is super small so it will fit into a running armband, or in our case, a waste belt. I am very pleased with the purchase.

As newer <rental, in my case> cars stop recognizing my iPod Classic, I was hoping this would connect with Bluetooth. On the 2025 Toyota Camry I rented, this is a smashing success! Pairing was super easy with the one button on the Kokkia, and the car audio connected every time with just a tap of the iPod to wake up. The iPod stopped playing instantly when I shut off the car, so no impact on battery life or missing any of my music or audiobooks. I think I got about five - six hours of playing time from the iPod before needing to recharge. The only thing that would make this better would be if you could connect a charge cable through the Bluetooth transmitter.

It worked well with my JBL Refect Contour 2 wireless earplugs. Not so if my older JBL Bluetooth Speaker. I had connected this transmitter to my Apple iPod Classic. It does wok on some products.

Pues la verdad es que el transmisor ha hecho revivir mi iPod Classic de 160gb; ahora lo puedo emparejar con mis TWS (unos Lypertek Tevi) y con mis auriculares bluetooth de diadema (Sony WH-1000mx3) enviándoles archivos con AptX y la verdad es que el conjunto Ipd+Kokkia no le envidia, en ese aspecto del bluetooth, a ningún DAP HiRes del mercado (y tengo un par de ellos, Fiio y Shanling). El nivel de volumen de salida también es alto y la transmisión muy buena, sin cortes. Se empareja fácilmente y puedo pasar de unos auriculares a otros dándole al botón incorporado pues se puede emparejar a dos fuentes distintas. Lo recomiendo al 100% si quieres reutilizar tu viejo IPOD con tus auriculares Bluetooth.

Funktioniert wunderbar mit dem ipod 6.Gernetation. Zwar stört es etwas das man es immer ausstecken muss, nach dem Musikgenuss, aber passt scho. Ich kann es uneingeschränkt empfehlen
