Overall an enjoyable cookie to nibble on along with chai.

A delicious dessert or hospitality gift
This was a wonderful addition to a Middle Eastern dinner I cooked for my friends after my trip from the Middle East. These cookies were one of my favorite things, and where the closest to fresh mahmouls from Jordan. The date filling was so good. I loved how they were only the few simple ingredients in there! Perfect with a little cup of espresso, or for a hospitality gift. Only drawback: not nearly as large or inexpensive as those in Jordan!

NOT THE SAME AS..,..
WE HAVE PURCHASED COOKIES LIKE THESE IN THE PAST AND LOVED THEM. PACKAGING WAS BEAUTIFUL FOR GIFTS......HOWEVER THE TASE OF ANISE WAS STRONG. NOT TO OUR PALLETTE.
