🔥 Wrap it right, drive cooler, perform stronger! 🏎️
The Design Engineering 010123 Pipe Wrap Kit offers a universal 2" x 25' exhaust wrap designed to reduce harmful heat transfer under the hood and inside the driver compartment. It enhances vehicle performance by improving exhaust velocity and horsepower while protecting sensitive components like fuel lines and plug wires. The kit includes four stainless steel locking ties for secure installation and suits a wide range of vehicles from motorcycles to heavy-duty trucks. Note: Not recommended for titanium exhausts due to material sensitivity.

It works! Easy to install! looks good!
So far so good! Makes a huge difference. I used this to wrap my exhaust between my frame and transmission after installing dual exhaust. I have fuel lines on my frame rail I was worried may get hot. I put in some aluminum heat shield and wrapped the pipe with this and after running the truck for 30 minutes the frame and fuel lines are cool to the touch. I could even fully grab the exhaust pipe about a ft back from the manifold bare handed. It was warm but nowhere near burning hot. Ties were too short for 2.5 inch pipe so I used hose clamps.

Diesel truck turbo downpipe application
Used this for my turbo downpipe on my truck…it is a high quality product however something to note the metal banding in the kit is not long enough for larger pipes.

The good stuff from a reputable brand
It's a bit tricky to secure with metal zip ties and it's hard to get them tight enough by hand or with pliers. I would definitely go buy some more ties separately, because the two included ones are almost certainly not going to be enough. The ends do fray, of course, which is inherent to the material. I folded the ends under to hide and protect the fray. Some people wet it first. I didn't, and I really had no real problems applying it dry. Definitely wear gloves. You should probably wear long sleeves, too, in case you bump your arm into it or it drags across your skin. It'll definitely leave an itchy rash. It smokes noxious death chemicals at first. For cars and trucks, this isn't really an issue in my opinion, except to a small extent maybe for the car behind you, but for motorcycles, powersports, and other small equipment, be prepared for the Batman smokescreen. The color does gradually get darker, but it takes some time. Does it keep the heat in? It will lower the temperature, prevent burns if it's on your motorcycle pipes, and protect nearby components like wiring, but it's not a miracle product. For sound insulation, I haven't noticed any difference. For the money, I'm happy with it.

Get it wet and wear gloves
I used water to make it more pliable and help me stretch it out over the pipe. It will get your hands black as MLK, but you should wear gloves to prevent that. It also will emit some "stank" until it gets completely burned in, so expect fumes and smoke for the first several rides.

excellent
really happy with the tape. Smelled for a week while curing and after that no issues whatsoever. % years on the car now.

Worth paying extra.
I started with buying one of the cheap alternatives, thinking it was the same. I was sorely mistaken. The cheap ones bleed so much in the water. They also have more than double as many fiberglass pieces that flake off. I received so many fiberglass splinters trying to use the sheep alternatives. I end up throwing the cheap one away. Even after their app was done there was fiberglass everywhere. Pay the extra it’s worth it

Missing sreel ties
The wrap looks of good quality but when I received the package, it was missing the steel ties. I had to purchase steel worm clamps to make it work.

Looks good and works well.
Installed dry and worked well. I was able to stretch it tight on the pipe using plastic zip ties to hold it in place temporary until I was able to install the stainless ones provided. I cut off the plastic ties before starting up the machine. It insulates very well. Surface gets hot but not super hot. I will say it will not go as far as the chart for installation says, I would figure it at about 75% coverage.

Able to reduce heat significantly on my bike's exhaust running just next to my calves and radiating heat right up my thigh. Packaging says the kit includes a metal tie tensioning tool but none was included. The ties were decent but not secure enough in my opinion. Good to invest in some hose clamps.

La cinta térmica se ve bien, pero el kit no incluye los cinchos qué dice la publicación.

I bought this wrap to wrap my custom turbo exhaust manifold and part of my downpipe. It works great and puts up with the heat. It does smoke and smell for the first 15 minutes or so, then it's not so noticeable. I expect it will last a very long time. I didn't use the included SS bands as they were too short for my application. I used some longer SS bands that I had on hand instead to secure the wrap.

Applied on motorcycle pipes, looks great. Haven't rode enough to see if they fade. They will smoke for awhile and smell but it goes away after awhile. Easy to apply just make sure you wear gloves and coveralls because of the fiberglass in the wrap. Good stuff
