Nutri-Cal Malt-Flavored High-Calorie Nutritional Gel for Dogs, 4.25oz

I have a senior (16 year old) Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who stopped eating, no matter what food we tried or how we fixed it. She started to get very skinny, so we tried this. Put it on her nose; she licked it off and then wanted to lick the tube. So I squirted a little bit out and she kept licking. She loves it. Not only did it help her get healthy, it increased her appetite for her regular Fresh Pet food, and she will now eat a little bit of food after her "dose" of Nutri-Cal. I give her a portion every morning, and now I don't have to worry about her, as she is getting back to her regular 7-pound weight. I think it smells a little like meat. I just ordered my second tube and will keep using it.

I have a dog in the recovery process, and she is also quite a finicky eater, as soon as I introduced her to this tasty and nutritional appetite stimulater, she began to lick the product off of my fingers!! I was both delighted and amazed that this product really worked!!!

My very picky dog loves it! He doesn't always eat enough so this gives him the missing calories while also stimulatong his appetite.

My 16 year old Chihuahua loves this! Her weight was rapidly declining until I started adding this to her food. Now she's gaining weight, her fur is coming back and she's acting like a puppy again!

So our 16 year old toy poodle had a emergency scare that landed him in the ER. He was having trouble breathing and his heart was racing (he had been previously dx with a heart murmur and kidney disease and was being overseen by a cardiologist along with his primary vet). He was dx with heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and top it off he was suffering from an a bout of pneumonia that wasn't seen in his xrays and blood work. Now he's on lasix, sildenafil and vetmedin, calcium supplement to help replace the electrolytes he was losing with the lasix and an occasionally an appetite supplement - which I try not give him unless we're both desperate. We are currently managing his symptoms but I wanted to help with the muscle wasting, loss of appetite and weight loss by supplementing with extra calories so I've been giving sweet potato through a syringe and wanted to try something more. I decided to give this product a try and I was shocked with how thick it was - it's essentially as thick as honey. So both my fiance and I gave it to him, he didn't love it but he also didn't hate it. However, later that night he had really bad diarrhea which I thought it could be due to this or to the fish oil I put in his food. So I decided to do process of elimination and stopped the fish oil and solely gave him this. I did what another reviewer did - I mixed it with a little water and pureed sweet potato and crossed my fingers that he wouldn't throw it up. I started with 10ml syringe with the mix and success no vomiting so far. And dare I say, it might be doing the job. He's more alert. He typically only wants to eat once a day; hence, the syringe feeding but tonight, I was cleaning, he came up and sat next to me. Then I noticed he was starting to sniff around his bowl. So I thought "MAYBE! He's hungry again." Sure enough, he ate again. I know this may be miniscule but for us, that's a win. We celebrate the little wins now. So take this with a grain of salt, but I want to say this product is helping him get the extra calories he needs which in turn is helping with his energy level and appetite.

Ive been using this product for years on my French Bulldogs the perfect supplement for everyday use or when glucose drops my dogs prefer the malt flavor comes in chicken flavor also

I used this when my now 60 lb pit bull was the runt of the litter and have hard time thriving. She loved the taste and it worked…helped her pack on some much needed weight

Habe die Tube eben bekommen. Mir hat überhaupt nicht gefallen,dass sie für den teuren Preis nicht gut gefüllt war. Würde sagen 2/3 nur voll. Mein Hund wiegt 23kg.braucht dann also ca. 7 Teelöffel. Mit der Tube komme ich sicherlich wenn überhaupt nur ne Woche aus.

Great stuff which helped keep my elderly dog alive for an extra year!

Spike is a very fussy eater and yet he survives on a very minimal amount of food daily. This Nutri cal works well with him, giving him more energy and he started to enjoy food more.

My dogs liked the taste and it helped my dog to eat and therefore prolonged their lives. Good product
