Can this be sprayed over automotive laquer, specifically duplicolor? can you then clear laquer over top of this?

Ian really not sure when it come to laquer I would not do it myself try it on a small pice of metal first see what happens

what backer do you use? i sprayed it on top of spaz stix mirror chrome and it came out gold-ish.

Depends. I did a experiment with different backers White -> Flat yellow Mirror Chrome -> Shiny Yellow I've also found if you put too much yellow on it starts turning gold so once you get the color you want you probably shouldn't put anymore on.

Color is awesome!! Shipping was fast!

Excellent product!!! and Super Duper Fast shipping!! Spaz Stix is AWESOME! I use it all the time on the lexan bodies I paint. This candy yellow is vibrant!! If you plan on doing a large section may I recommend purchasing it in a spray can, it'll save you a lot of time. But if your doing a small area, this great airbrush paint.

Nice, but a few caveats.

This stuff looks gorgeous on my RC car bodies, but there are a few things to know first. I wasn't able to find a pressure on my airbrush where this stuff didn't fill the air with a heavy fog. Be sure you have plenty of airflow and wear a good respirator. This isn't so much as a paint as a translucent tint for chrome. You'll need to back this with their mirror chrome. If you're doing an RC car body (painted on the inside). You'll want to back it with mirror chrome, and back THAT with their "ultimate clear coat" which is really just a light fixative for the chrome. You might want to back the clear with another layer of a more durable clear. The stuff sticks like crazy. Cleanup is a chore.

Nice color but does NOT come out "candy at all, but more of an orange peel effect. I airbrushed at pressures from 40 to 120 psi and there was no difference. My Floquil (the OLD Floquil) gold undercoat was perfectly smooth but the paint does not "flatten out" so I guess I'm back to Testors after a very expensive try out of these paints (bought 12 different).
