I bought this set 5 months ago. The brush bristles do not always retract, making it difficult to remove the hair. Also, the nail trimmers have dulled already and are causing clipping to be uncomfortable for my dog. Not worth the price.

Fine quality and well designed. My cat now expect to be brushed everday.

I have a miniature schnauzer who I brush daily. After reading the glowing reviews for this product I had high expectations that this would be a great brush to replace the old brush that I got from ebay years ago. In its favour - Yes, it does get rid of tangles and is gentler on the skin. BUT it has one major fundamental flaw. It gets caught in the fur and pulls extremely hard on it as it moves through which was extremely painful for my dog. I'm not talking about major knots and tangles. I'm talking about the everyday standard brushing of a dog that is kept well groomed. I did not have this issue with my old German-made Slicker brush (whihc would smoothly glide through major or minor tangles until they eventually came out. I'm not sure if that is because it has longer bristles whereas the bristles on this product are very short, but either way, I've gone back to using my old brush because of this. This brush is only useful to use after my dog is already brushed for the day, which kind of defeats the purpose. The other items in the kit are great.
