You should be ok. I can get two paddle boards on with the strap that’s attached to mine.

Yes, they attach to the roof of the car, not through the window of the car.

Will this fit my vw transporter van?

Yes. It incorporates 2 straps as well which will hold a few surfboards .just don't blow the tubes up much otherwise the stuff bounces around a bit the 2 straps for the tuberack pass through the inside of car at ceiling level .they work well.had for 6 months
