Best Blade for my beard and best price!
These are great blades and the price can't be beat. They are made in Turkey from Swedish steel, quality made and long lasting steel. I'm of the school of thought that there are different blades for different beards and in my 42 years of shaving I've proved this to myself over and over again...many a blood bath behind me: In my opinion Murkur and Feather are for men with heavy beards, British made Wilkinson Sword for medium or light and so is Derby Blades. I have a medium beard and get a smooth, comfortable shave with no razor burn or cuts every time. The Swedish steel is more than sharp enough for 6 - 8 shaves; 10 if I flip the blade over, with no drag or burn. The blades are a little heavier than Murkur and Feather so are more stable in the razor and stay firm. Again; just my opinion, but 'surgical steel blades' as great as they are are not for every face. My dad and several friends from the past that had to shave twice a day love the Murkur's and Feather's...All I did was end up looking like I lost a fight with a Wearing Blender. Too sharp for me. ALSO: The Wilkinson Sword blades are now made in Germany and are like the Murkur's: Scalpel sharp. Used to love them and now can't stand them. But if you have a heavy beard they might be the blade for you. These Derby's should work for men with heavy beards if you use the 3 - 4 way shave every day or don't need a "baby skin close shave" all the time. Again: just my opinion. My dad used Gillette Blue Blades in the 50's and 60's and loved them to death on his Gorilla beard...I thought they were dull as hell and hated them...everyone is different (he switched to Murkur in the 60's too). Maybe if enough men switch back to the safety razor we'll get good American made blades again (Schick made some damned good double edged blades too!) but for now we have to buy foreign and yes I know that Persona still make double edged blades in the USA and I wouldn't shave my ex-wife with them...maybe...they are dull, uneven, a blood bath waiting to happen. You won't be disappointed in these blades!

Couldn’t ask for a better razor blade
I use these to shave in my double sided razor everyday and they are top of the line quality. They leave my face feeling baby smooth, I have still not ran out of these. This purchase is a long term investment. The blades keep their sharpness for a long time before beginning to dull. If you are a regular shaver then these blades are for you

Good all-around blades and a good value.
Good blades that perform well for me. Not the sharpest out there, but a good solid blade in my opinion. Excellent value and a fairly comfortable blade overall.

Outstanding Value and Quality
I kept reading mixed reviews about Derby blades, but the ultimate decision maker was that the 5 pack doubled as a razor disposal. I really couldn't justify spending money on the Feather brand piece of plastic that is literally going in the trash when it gets full. I didn't want to get a pill bottle or some other random piece of kitchenware to dispose of my blades and take up space in the bathroom. I like saving money when I can but C'mon, I'm not in college anymore, no excuses for bad taste. I have a beard and shave and trim weekly to keep it maintained, so I'm not going over my full face. I shave my cheeks, under my lip, tidy up the ends of my mustache, and clean up my neck beard line. I use a closed comb Merkur because I want a mild shave since the hair that's being shaved is fairly short. The Derby blades are a great combo for my 34C and my weekly shave needs. I do about 2 passes and some fine tuning, and I'm good to go. This is just for me though, other people's faces and bodies will have different needs than mine. I can't speak for people who have thicker beards, as mine is thin and I shave often. This works out great for me because the blade isn't as sharp as a Feather, but I don't need my blade to be that sharp. It all depends on your needs and how often you shave a week. I might go through one or two blades a month, so in a years time I'll have used anywhere from 12-24 blades in a single year. A pack of 12 Gillette blades cost around $35. I can get 5-6 shaves out of those before I start getting irritation and the blade becomes dull. I find that it's easier to sculpt my beard lines much better with a safety razor as opposed to having 5 blades try to clean it up. It just makes more financial sense to shave with these blades and a safety razor. To sum it up, these blades are a terrific value. I get a closer shave with my safety razor, and no irritation. It's a win win.

Dependable Double-edge Razor Blades
These razor blades are wonderful. They are sharp, and they are easy to handle safely. This package is designed to “dispense” smaller packages of 5 blades, with each blade wrapped in paper; this makes it easy to handle the blades before you place them in your razor. The 5-blade package includes a slot for you to place the used blades, which further improves safe handling. Since the blades are really sharp, they don’t irritate the skin. In my experience, it’s possible to get more than one close, comfortable shave from each blade. But don’t push that - after two, three shaves at most, change blades for comfort and healthy skin. I have not seen these blades rust at all. They are stainless steel, and while some stainless alloys can rust, between the alloy and coatings on these blades, you’re not likely to see any rust in normal use. I think these are a great choice for those of us who use safety razors instead of high-waste, expensive, disposable “8-blades for closeness” razor cartridges. They’re better for your skin, better for the environment, and better for your wallet.

By far the best of all that I've tried...
I've tried Gillette, Feather, Personna, Astra, Wilkinson, VanDerHagen blades. These BY FAR are my favorite blades. Upon reading the many reviews on blades across amazon, I've come to the conclusion that everyone has their favorite; I assume because everyone's face and hair growth is different. I'm certain nobody likes a bloody face, so each review is subjective to the particulars of one's own shaving style and face. To that end, I'll try to identify my shaving style as well as my hair growth and my hair thickness in an attempt to help you decide if these will work for you. I'm going to split this up into two different categories: Objective, and Subjective. Objectives means these are the factual differences, and subjective are my personal opinion. First, Objective. These blades are individually wrapped in wax paper and separated out in 5-count plastic containers that second as razor disposal containers. I think this is a fairly critical consideration, as you're going to have to ultimately dispose of these razors in a safe fashion. This precludes you from having to purchase a separate disposal container. They are neatly and professionally packaged. The blades themselves are stamped with a 1,2,3,4 marker that can easily be seen from the underside of most common razors. This, I assume, is so that you can rotate the blade in such a way as to keep track of which blade (and which side) you are currently using. I'm shaving 4 times with each blade. I shave on 1, then turn the blade for shave 2, then flip the blade for shave 3 and 4. At 10 cents per blade, I get 4 shaves, which costs me 2.5 cents per shave. I'm confident I could shave at least twice on each side, but at some point, it's not worth the effort. So, I get 4 shaves per blade. Now to the subjective. I've tried numerous other blades and I simply couldn't get a consistent shave. One time, I'd have a semi-smooth shave, and others, I'd cut my face to shreds. This was particularly true with personna and with the VanDerHagen blades. I would approach each shave with trepidation. I also noticed that if I paused during a stroke, I would get a nice cut across my face with the personna blades. The Astra and VanDerHagen blades tended to pull at my whiskers rather than to actually cut them. I am a Caucasian fair-skinned male. I shave daily and have semi-sensitive skin. I don't have any major skin issues like acne that would complicate shaving. I have fairly fine hair, but I tend to have alot of it. If I don't shave for one day, it is slightly noticible, but my face is extremely prickly. Because my hair grows fast and is quite fine, I have a particular need to have a comfortable consistent shave. The Derby blades deliver that. Each shave is consistent, smooth, and close. I've been very happy with these blades. They work perfectly for me. If you have similar characteristics to me, these blades will likely work nicely for you too. Best of luck.

Great Price
As a kid growing up, my father used a safety razor and insisted, even if it meant going to several stores, that we purchased Gillette or Wilkinson blades. Now that I have switched to using one myself, I understand why. The price, one hundred blades for around 8 dollars is increadably cheap but for me, I really only get one shave out of each blade. Not sure where they’re made, but if I had to guess, I’d say Turkey.I had the same issue with a different brand , also purchased on Amazon and made in China. Wish all products on Amazon disclosed country of origin as I try and buy American made products when given the choice and I’ve learned that buying razor blades on the “Cheap”) isn’t worth it. I see that most reviews for these blade were pretty good, but I guess I’m in the minority in saying, “ spend more money and get a good American, German blades for a great shave!
