Works great, on the first job anyway
This vise is really light, made for the most part out of a strong but lightweight plastic. So when it arrived and I got it out of the box, I wondered how well it would hold my shotgun. The one I was working on is a Remington 870 Express that I've had for years. It has a long barrel, an aftermarket extended extra-capacity magazine tube that's almost as long as the gun barrel, a taclight and mount, and a side saddle installed that holds 6 extra 12-gauge shells. Total length from butt to muzzle is about 49" so it's a fairly heavy gun considering the size from the factory and the aftermarket mods it's carrying. Recently I decided that I wanted to run a sling on it too, so needed to install a sling stud on the buttstock. I ordered this vise to help with doing that job properly. Well, despite my apprehension that the light plastic vise might not hold the gun securely, those fears were unfounded. Last night I set things up on the microwave table I use for meal prep in the kitchen and it worked like a champ. Completely satisfied and favorably impressed; I got the hole for the sling stud drilled, and the stud installed, without any issues whatsoever. No tipping of the gun while working on it; plenty of stability. The easy-to-secure gripping points did no damage to the shotgun's wood furniture. We'll see how the vise does on future jobs with this gun and others.

Pretty good. Not super sturdy. Better for a solid butt rifle.
This isnโt made for ar 15. I had difficulty not rocking it back and forth no matter how I set it up on the vice. Seems to be more sturdy, tho, when i place my old World War II Mauser 10mm sniper rifle. Solid wood stock. Seemed a bit more stable with the longer guns heavier stock (and overall stabilized weight) held lower in the vice. The ar 15 .223 seems like it sits higher and the weight is different, front heavy w the metal rails. Maybe just me but it seemed like it didnโt work as well as Iโd have liked. Or as good as my other brand. Might still keep it for sighting in sights and cleaning my Mauser.

Works great, light weight easy to use and set up. Holds rifle without movement great for maintenance and bore sighting a rifle.

Good vice cheap and flimsy tho
Although it's great for the money it is cheap and flimsy the adjustments are also cheaply made and wobly but for a beginner vice it's great the storage areas on the bottom are helpful

It does have small feet to level
This is not for shooting with, Use for scope mounting and cleaning rifle- works nicely. It does have 4 small adjustable feet (many said it didn't) if needed when doing scope level. No need to snug the clamps crazy tight, a little tension will hold fine and allows for little left /right level adjustments. Nice helping hands when working on firearm. scouting out the price not very expensive.

OK not great
This is a solid piece of plastic, well made. But the clamps don't close equally. I try to mount a rifle and the stock locks in place, but I can't close the grips far enough to grab the barrel. I could reverse the rifle and both clamps would grab, but then the barrel would be on a pretty steep down angle and much harder to access for cleaning etc. I still use it for cleaning, but when I want to mount and level a scope, I put a wadded up washcloth in the vice with the barrel. Then it works fine. Not a bad product, just needs to improve the clamping. Update. I have to wear some egg on my face. I always position a rifle so the bolt is behind the clamp. I want the bolt fully open for cleaning. But if you're mounting a scope the bolt doesn't need to be open and you can tighten the front clamp on the stock instead of the barrel. In this case the clamps work fine. I'm just slow witted. This is a very good clamp for the price.

It works
Plastic construction. Hard to fully secure rifles with chin pieces.
