These shifters were identical to the original shifters on my bike. Installation was easy and they work perfectly. The hardest part of the installation was removing the rubber handlebar grips. It is a nice touch that these shifters come with cables installed. That avoids the hassle of installing your own cables. A minor annoyance is that the gear indicator for gears 1-8 is not centered on the gear number in the display. That issue has no effect on the functionality and you get used to it. In any case, the gear display is infinitely better than my old 1-8 shifter which was no longer readable. I am tempted to buy another set as spares because these are so inexpensive and my shifters always wear out.

Work exactly as you'd expect

Kind of flimsy parts , but does do the job

I order this as a replacement for my old Shimano levers thinking it was Shimano, but no. They are Shimano knock-offs with no Shimano logo. They work OK, but the gear indicator shows incorrect alignment with the gear you are in, it will not go to 8. Fit and finish is not quite as good as Shimano but at a knock-off quality. After using them a bit, will come back and update my review.

The good these shifters present as new of good quaility. The bad is the cables appear to have been installed before as both cables have small kinks in them. I will attempt to install but I suspect I will have to change out the cable for the right shifter. As I have ordered cables in bulk its not a big problem. I ordered these from Amazon warehouse saving a couple of dollars I thought. I would spend the couple of additional dollars to ensure you get the pristine cables. In defense of the warehouse when they sold me bike chains(package had been opened) they made a point to throw in additional masterlinks to ensure I had everything needed to install never used bike chains at a great price. These are several dollars cheaper than Shimano but appear to be of similiar quality. I will update this review after I use them a few weeks if actual experience proves otherwise

I am getting an old bike back on the road and needed the left shifter to finish. Being an older, beat up bike, I didn’t want to spend a lot. I only installed the left shifter and adjusted it. I took the bike for a quick ride down the street. It shifted fine about 5 times. Then the levers started sticking and I had to manually push them back to get another shift. The thumb lever started to feel loose and very hard to push. I decided no not even install the right side 8 speed shifter and will be returning this garbage. These might look like Altus shifters but they are not even close to the quality. Spend an extra few dollars and get the real thing.

The gear shift on my bike had internal failures. These fit the bill end and cable come with the shifters cut to any length needed. You can not replace the cables by them selves.

These worked very well for my Trek 1.1. They look the same as Shimano branded trigger shifters I used to have on another bike. Work about the same. Average tuning difficulty, but all 8 gears in the back work fine, and the two gears in front work with the 3-speed shifter (the H screw prevents it from going out of 2nd gear). No complaints, awesome deal for the price!

I've been using these for more than a month now, and the quality is surprising for the price. They are easy to switch gears and feel very comfortable. They replaced my 20+ year old Shimano rapid shifters and are working equally as good. If they don't withstand the test of time I will update but for now, 5 stars

Great find!! These are modern style shifters for a classic 3x8 gear system. Hard to find this product anywhere. If you want to modernize your breaks and shifters these will work! I have used them on 2 classic hardtails.

Easy to install OK for the price

bought these for a rebuild bike and the 8 speed trigger is super clunky, and the 3 speed trigger made a clunk and broke on the first pull.

These are Okay. The truth is you can't buy two shifters for this price of this style. Everything else right now is about 20 dollars the shifter or more. In this Shortage of bike parts during the 2020 season they were a welcome stop gap and work just fine. Though I can see they wont be a long term solution. They are kind flimsy, you can feel the gears and internals arent the strongest. If you need a quick stop gap on a bike that will be riden alot they will do until the better shimano or Sram or even Microshift parts become availible. If you have a casual cruising bike these will work fine too. But these arent by any means a viable replacement for the higher quality shifters on the market. If you want high quality buy high quality. If you are on a budget these should work for you.
