Very carefully packaged, seeds start sprouting in just 3 days ! Fun to grow
(Added: Update 2 weeks : my lotus plants are growing like crazy, and loving the recent move into my fresh water fish aquarium. I'm happy they're thriving and adding beauty to my aquarium. Update: 1 week: These lotus seeds are growing FAST and healthy! I'm still growing them in a plastic water jug on my kitchen counter near the window. The water is changed out twice a day . /Update day 4: 100 % of the seeds sprouted !) These seeds arrived in perfect condition, very carefully packaged in a small ,cute ,solid plastic container. It's actually the best packaging I've ever seen for any seed product. There are very clear instructions inside the small box. I'm grateful the seller already prepared the seed by slicing off a tiny area on each seed, to encourage sprouting. For me, I also did some research on line on how best grow these plants. I placed my seeds in plenty of warm water. I have my own mountain water well, and blance system , so my water is very pure and healthy for plants. ( In my experience most seeds are not too fond of starting life in clorinated water.) I give the seeds clean warm water 3 times a day. The grow container I used is a see through blue plastic jug, and it's sitting on my kitchen counter to get direct natural sunlight from my kitchen window. I have 2 feet of snow in my yard, so obviously ๐can't place my container in a cold window. This is day three of soaking the seeds....and* SURPRISE *,this morning three of the seeds have tiny sprouts growing out of them! I believe all of my seeds will sprout , and will add photos as they grow. Once they are ready I'm transferring them to my large fish tank where they will continue to get natural sunlight, and may place a few in water containers. By Spring time I can then transfer most of these lotus plants to my two outdoor ponds. I have a sweet bullfrog who comes back to my ponds every year/4 years, and he is going to love these lotus flowers. The honey bees and birds will enjoy these plants too. I'll try to add some photos of animals with the lotus plants in 2021.

Theyโre sprouting all over the place
I canโt say I followed the instructions, I just put them directly in my porch pond. I put all 12 in thinking Iโd be lucky if one or two did anything because I wasnโt following the instructions and now, as far as I can tell, my 55 gallon porch pond is going to be filled with lotus. They are ALL sprouting. I will update with photos when they get a few months on their growth. Just to warn people what putting the whole package of seeds in your pond does. FYI, I have a heater in the pond however, I also have goldfish and they eat everything so Iโm not sure how they will do even if they sprout leaves and flowers. I planted 8 in pots with potting media and 4 in gravel so weโll see how they do, Iโm super curious.

I got 2 out of 10 seeds to actually sprout into something
3 out of 4 so far have not sprouted. Followed directions to the best of my ability. they're likely written by a non English speaking person so very confusing. And got 1 sprout. The rest just got soggy and did nothing. So, I know I did whatever I did right or I wouldn't have got any to sprout. If you're good with $10 for 2 seeds, Good luck.

Harder to use than expected
They advertised it as easy to grow but although I got them to start growing, finding the large sized clear bowl didn't work and didn't expect that you'd have to put so much dirt in the bottom. Eventually put them in a large pot outside and here they have not bloomed and seem not to be doing well outside with water and dirt and indirect sun. Disappointed and won't buy this product unless I have a pond. Not practical for LA area which is way too dry. Cheap to buy but didn't bloom yet and it's been two months. Sad.

8 sprouts out of 10 seeds!
Planting Ornamental did their job VERY well - Seeds arrived well packed in a plastic box. High percentage of sprouts means a 5 Star Seller! Now it's up to me to keep them alive. Put 5 seeds each in 2 glasses of room temp tap water - had 1 floater in each glass, so 80% viable seeds. Changed water daily; had 3 sprouts on day 4. By day 7 had 8 seeds sprouting! On day 7 planted 3 seeds separately in 6" dia x 4" deep pots I had cut down from standard black plastic pots you buy plants in at the nursery. Used 2 parts clay soil from my yard, 1 part potting soil, 1 part sand - well mixed. Dampened soil and poked a hole 2" deep; placed each seed in a pot with 2" sprout showing, then put enough pea-gravel on surface of soil to keep it from floating. Put in 3 separate ponds in about 8" of water. I will plant the remainder in a few days, but will put banana slices (with peel) at bottom of each pot for fertilizer - bananas are excellent sources of food for growing plants. If I remember, I will update this later.

Stinky
I bought these hoping to grow them in my fish tank. I followed the instructions and sprouted them in a glass jar. I believe 4 of them sprouted fairly quickly and after they were about 4 inches tall, I put them in my fish tanks (both heated). They kept growing wonderfully in the fish tank, but I noticed that in the tank without a mystery snail, a gelatinous, translucent substance appeared at the base of the seed. I assume the ones in my other tank, my snail ate, because I'd always see her there. The seeds are stinky. Like rotting kind of stink. I eventually removed them from the snail-less tank and once the roots developed, I removed the nut/seed from the other tank and planted it into the substrate. It did grow, but the leaves curled in on themselves and turned brown. Then it would start to rot. I pinched off the rotting leaves and it did put up more leaves ... but again, it would get to the top, curl and rot. Maybe my fish tank wasn't the right habitat for it ... who knows. I removed the last of it from my tank. I think if you're looking for a water lotus for your fish tank, it's better to buy them from an actual fish hobby store.

Quality seeds, well prepared
The seeds I received were of high quality. Every seed was sanded down on the side to allow water to penetrate them quickly. After three days, my first sprouts came out. Within a few more days, I had to move all the young plants to my pond. A few of the seeds did not sprout, but it doesn't really matter because this plant spreads rapidly.
