Quiet and builds pressure fast
Tried a few others like this but send them back. This builds up pressure quicker. Does take a while to fill a 90lb truck tire up but not that bad. Think you could spray with this. Not loud, could use in the house. Works in cold weather where my big compressure one blew breakers even with syn oil. Portable and not heavy. Big plus in rv or lifting up to truck bed. I take in the house and warm it up at 10 degrees to 10 below. Try that with a heavy compressure. Used a lot and no problems. Surprised at the excellent build quality for the price.

Great compressor-Great price
I was searching for an oil-less compressor since I ruined my previous portable compressor by letting run out of oil. When searching for tools, I always go to Fine Woodworking's tool ratings and this produce was top rate and, when I found it on Amazon, I was surprised at how affordable it is. I do not have high demand since I am just a DYI-er but this unit has performed well and is easy to adjust for the various tools I use-framing nailer, pin nailer, and stapler. If you are looking for a small, reliable, portable compressor, you will not be disappointed with this one!

Just right!
I use this compressor for light use at work a few times a month, mainly for blowing out parts and some brad nailing. Its light enough to easily carry to the job site, it pumps up quickly and is quiet compared to other compressors I've had. It feels sturdy, and I've had no problems with parts breaking, or breaking off. It has a low center of gravity and never rolls around in the truck no matter how hard I drive. The parts tray is convenient and the only thing I would add would be a place to store a small hose. The packaging is poor, but I received mine in good condition. This would be a perfect compressor for home use too!

Nice compressor, but louder than advertised
I was in the market for a small compressor, initially to run an 18 gauge brad nailer for installing baseboards, but also for future use for cleaning, tire fills and running other air tools I may acquire. I narrowed it down to the Grip-Rite, the 1-gallon Senco and the Makita MAC700. I was hesitant about the Grip-Rite since there were very few reviews, while the Senco and Makita had many positive reviews. However, the 0.7 CFM output of the Senco mostly limits it to running small nailers or airbrushes, while the Grip-Rite touts a 2.6 CFM output. The MAC700 is likely better built and engineered and only $30 more, but I was put off by its 52 lb weight compared to 39 lbs for the Grip-Rite. For occasional light home use, I didn't want to deal with a heavy, oil-lubed compressor. The Grip-Rite arrived undamaged in the manufacturers box. It's compact and smaller than I expected. The sticker says its made in Taiwan, which is a nice surprise as I expected it be Chinese-made. The instruction manual is simple and clear and includes a detailed parts list. The manual and parts list are also available on their website. As another reviewer mentioned, there is some swarf loose in the tanks. It could probably be removed by removing the drain valves and using a rare earth magnet taped to a dowel. Not sure it's worth the effort though. I would certainly not call the unit "extremely quiet" as the marketing blurb does. While it's quieter than my brothers pancake compressor, someone sleeping in the next room probably wouldn't appreciate hearing it. In a detached home with the windows closed, your neighbors likely wouldn't hear it, but in a condo with thin walls, they probably will. On the plus side, the run times to fill and recover are quite fast. I didn't measure them, but they seem in line with what Grip-Rite claims (50 and 10 seconds IIRC?). Overall, it seems like a good unit. Time will tell how it holds up.

Awesome little compressor!
I was a little skeptical at first about this compressor and when I used it the first time it tripped the breaker on the unit. That was my fault as I was running a framing gun on a long cord with a crappy multi-plug attached. It was dark at the end of the day and it stopped working. I thought I broke it the first use but after looking at it the next day in the light I found the reset button and it has worked like a champ ever since. Finish gun 15 gauge Hitatchi with 100 ft hose, Porter cable FR 350 framing gun no troubles and it is really very quiet. I am very happy with this unit I have another sears model that is twice as loud as this and does not hold anywhere near the air this does.

Workhorse
I'm a DIY guy, building a 400 sf deck. I've never owned a compressor nor a nail gun. This little compressor has performed great. Yes, it is fairly quiet, but that's not the best part. I work a typical 9-10 hour day job, then come home to spend a couple hours building my deck. I have to haul my compressor outside and then inside. The fact that it is compact and not too heavy is a big deal. I've never had a mis-hit because of inadequate air pressure. Okay, when nailing H1 joists I'm shooting nails real fast and the compressor is running frequently. But that's not important. I've never had a nail not fire correctly because of inadequate air pressure. This compressor was top rated and that's why I bought it. I'm not disappointed.

Junk.
This compressor cycles constantly. It fills up, sets off the release, loses pressure, starts again, fills up, sets off the release, loses pressure, starts again, etc, etc, etc. Doesn't matter where you set the adjustments on the pressure control. I sent Grip Rite an e-mail and got no response. POS.

Great for the DIYer!
Great compressor for the DIY homeowner! Easy to use, works great - I reshingled my whole (20-square) roof with this and the Ramsond CRN-45 nailer. Very portable with enough power to run just about anything the DIY homeowner needs. Fairly quiet for a compressor, and low-maintenance as it's oil-free. I also use it all the time to top off our car tires (as we live 20 miles from the nearest gas station.)
