Awesome mouse, Awesome price
I will start off by saying, I am a Logitech fanboy when it comes to peripheral products. Have owned a slew of their mice with my current one being the VX Nano (amazing mouse). So when I started shopping for a new mouse of course I scoured the market, from the simple to the ultra-button clad MMO mice.I play a range of games, MMOs, RTSs, and FPSs. So finding a mouse to cater to all of these was my intention. I have had my share of cordless mice, and was interested in going back to a corded mouse, no more battery scrambling mid-game. Obviously I needed a mouse that had some additional programmable buttons, but the ones with 6-15 thumb buttons seemed too much. I recently purchased Logitech's G13 gameboard, so I didn't need all of my game hotkeys on my mouse. I also wanted to find one that was a little easier on the wallet. Here is what attracted me to this mouse:1)Symmetric design, I'm not a palm grip player2)Rubber grips on the side, one of my favorite features on the VX Nano3)Extra buttons placed on top of the mouse rather than the side, fits my claw grip style. Also after receiving the mouse I noticed the tactile response on the top four side buttons is quite nice. There is a click to let you know it has been pressed, but the pressure required is not very high, so they can be pressed in rapid succession effortlessly.4)LEDs were a cool touch, plus the colors of which you can assign alert you to the current selected profile.5)Price was unbeatable. Logitech put an optical sensor in this mouse rather than a laser. I can not tell the difference. My last gaming mouse was the G7. I have the razer kabuto mouse pad and it tracks flawlessly. 2500 dpi is more than enough for my style, in fact I'm usually using less than 1500.Here are some other comments on the mouse:1)The mouse is rather light. If you like a heavy mouse or one that can be weight adjusted, this may not be the mouse for you.2)Others have commented that this mouse caters to the "claw-grippers". As one myself this was something I took in mind with my selection. If you like large mice to palm, this may not be the mouse for you. It is slightly bigger than the VX Nano, but not by much.3)When using the scroll wheel, you may experience some finger rub. This is not a huge deal for me as I have made adjustments to my finger positioning to avoid the occurrence. The wheel is a little recessed, but has a very smooth tactile movement. Great for games that use the wheel for selecting between weapons or as in DayZ where the wheel selects your actions on objects.4)The software for the mouse is extremely intuitive and straight forward and works exactly as it is purposed; have had zero issues with it.Final thoughts:I would recommend this mouse to those that like a compact, light mouse to claw grip and have a few extra programmable buttons. For these purposes it is absolutely perfect. Very comfortable to hold, very sleek and attractive with 9 different LED colors to switch between. Well worth the money. Competes with mice more than twice the price.

Great for the Price
About a month ago, I was in the market for a large, comfortable, ergonomic gaming mouse, as a side feature I was also looking for a mouse with extra programmable keys, because I play a lot of video games. This mouse was the perfect fit for me.Pros:+ Large mouse size accommodates most larger hand sizes+ Ergonomic, ambidextrous shape makes it really easy to use for long periods of time+ Programmable keys allow you to create shortcut buttons for video games and for common keyboard commands (like copy/paste)+ Multiple profiles allow you to create different shortcut setups for different scenarios, or using the free software the mouse can have a profile for each video game installed on your computer+ Lights tell you what profile you have selected; there are a variety of colors to choose from, with each profile being programmable+ The mouse has a high DPI of 2500 maximum, which can be set via the software or cycled with a shortcut button on the mouse+ The extra buttons stay out of the way and are not easily pressed by accident, but are not hard to press on purpose, eitherCons:- The wire is a bit stiff for my liking, getting in the way of movement- The buttons are not directly programmable into a game; you have to program a keystroke into them and then use that in the game, (this is the main reason I give it a 4/5)- The mouse is light, but this may be a good thing for some people (I don't mind this very much)Overall this mouse is very good, and I recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable gaming mouse with programmable buttons.

Pleasantly surprised
I didn't expect G300 to be this good. Bottomline is, if the form factor is right for you, this is probably the best wired mouse for the buck.Form factor: Mouse is relatively small. It is 'one size larger' than a notebook mouse would be. For me this worked well because I prefer smaller and lighter mice that take less space and leave more to move around. It also helps with the extra G button placement. When you grab the mouse in your neutral position, your fingers are very close to the buttons on the sides. Pressing them then simply becomes a rolling movement more or less.Build quality is pretty good for the price. Top surface is comfortable, rubberized sides make the grip easier. Marketed as a gaming mouse, it sure has some lighting, that is unavoidable I guess. But I think that works really well for differentiating the 3 profiles. Overall, looks good, and feels good, and nothing kitsch or exaggerated.Profiles and software: I don't like installing additional software. Especially drivers/services or utilities that you have to have in system tray (Windows). They take up memory, and CPU time and make things complicated and your setup difficult to maintain. So I never install mice / keyboard software that help you define macros etc. But with this mouse, you just install the app once and run it whenever you want to change the configuration, and then exit it, close it, terminate it all the way. The three profiles with all the button macros you define (simple ones) are stored in the mouse flash memory, so you don't need any software running to use them. This also means you can just take the mouse somewhere else, just plug it and use it with your own settings. Great.I am not a hardcore gamer. I occasionally do FPS. So, for the tracking performance I won't have too much to say. I use this mouse mostly on a simple cloth mouse pad and sometimes Razer eXactmat. I think it performs decent enough. The resolution is more than enough for my use style and for regular tracking surfaces. I don't see any different between the Infrared and Laser mice I have used before.Congratulations Logitech, for this great mouse. I expect this to be a really good seller for a long time to come.

Best Gaming mouse under 2k
This is the best gaming mouse one can get if the budget is under 2000. The 9 programmable buttons are very useful depending on the activity. 3 modes ie. Multiplayer, Single Player and Normal are very well thought by Logitech. The handling is very nice and the grip is good too. The performance of the mouse is just amazing.

Completely awesome
This is the best gaming mouse available at this budget. I bought this a month ago. Kudos to Amazon delivery, the shipment arrived just in 48hrs, even though I hadn't selected the 2 day delivery. The pros and cons are as followsPros:-• The 8 customizable colors of the light stripes look awesome• The mouse fits perfectly in hand• The 5 extra customizable buttons are a boon to any gamer• The customizable wide range of DPI's helps use sniper rifles and adventure in gaming all alike• The texture on the sides of it is very good. No sign of cheap plasticCons:-• The mouse consistently forgets user profiles. The driver has to be turned up every time so that the profiles are uploaded to the mouse.Bottom Line:-This is a completely awesome mouse in this price range, just a suggestion to logitech is that they should have some on-board memory in the mouse to hold the profiles. Otherwise, its the best you can get under 2000. Love it.
