Great item for my specific need
This is not one of those items people use or need every day, but when you need it, there’s no replacement for it. I had a problem with one of my SSD drives disappearing, not literally of course, but not showing on Windows File Explorer. I had changed out cables and changed the SATA port on the motherboard with spotty results; sometimes it would show up and sometimes it wouldn’t. So, in the course of troubleshooting, I figured I would rule out the SATA port on the SSD by ordering and using this SATA to eSATA cable to run the cable from my internal hard drive to an eSATA port on the outside of my computer sitting on a multi-function panel. To my surprise, nothing blew up or got destroyed (note, I did not hot swap). Also, to my surprise, it worked. I can now access my second SSD. I’m enclosing a picture. Sure, it’s jerry-rigged, but it actually works, so until I’m able to come to a more permanent solution, I’m happy with the results. I’m happy to report that the cable works great with no malfunctions. It’s an appropriate length to reach where I need it too.

Works well per application
Pros: Works as designed and as expected. Quality of build and materials used are both, top notch. Cons: None Would buy again if needed.

very handy for higher speed data than USB 3.2
I've acquired several external HDD enclosures which have both USB 2 and eSATA connectors. What's not commonly known is that eSATA is a 6Gbs transfer media vs USB 3.2's 5Gbs transfer. In this age of speedy data, these cables are a low cost advantage.

Nice way to keep using an external enclosure
I have a dual bay sata enclosure that the internal sata port multiplier won’t work with my Synology NAS (DS1522). Was able to use these to bypass the enclosure’s sata ports and connect them directly to the synology NAS esata port. Everything works great and haven’t had any issues.

Is this actually a SATA III cable?
Note: If i'm wrong or missed something on my side, I'll change the rating. I checked with my hardware (Running a Hackintosh): -Motherboard has SATA 3 -3.5" 7200rpm hard drives have SATA 3 -2-bay RAID enclosure has SATA 3 Cable is connected from Motherboard SATA to enclosure. When I ran the Blackmagic speed test (at 5GB), my read and write are both ~150MB/s. Am I missing something? I don't expect the full 6GB/s on a disk drive, but I wasn't expecting the speed to be ~1/6.

Good solution for more frankenstein-ish setups.
Used it to connect a hard drive dock directly to the motherboard of a SFF machine. I was told by a few people that using dual boot between Windows and Debian is a bad idea, but rather to "switch between hard drives." That sounded a little too ramshackle, but then I considered this solution. Thanks to the cable, my frankenstein setup is nice and simple.
