*the pictures are for the Marsala Red color* I included pictures in many different settings with different lighting so you can see the color. In the sun it appears more pink, but in normal indoor lighting it is a dark red, you could describe it as blood or maroon. The indoor lighting pictures are really more accurate to the true color than the ones in the sun. I am very happy with this color because I wanted something dark red for the fall/winter, and based on the pictures of other reviewers, the wine red would have been to light for what I wanted. The Apple logo does show through the case. I have purchased at least 2 other colors of this case. They have all been fantastic. The feel of the case is grippy so it is easy to pick up. I use a second fabric case for extra protection. In the past, I did not have this case and found that the wear and tear of the case being in my bag, or me sliding the case across surfaces, would cause the white foot grips on the bottom to come off. The order does include 4 extra grippies that you can put on, as shown in the picture. But, I have found that with just being gentler with the case, the grippies don't come off so it is not an issue. Other reviewers say that the front part of the case irritates the skin on their wrist, or is poky. This has not been my experience at all, with multiple different colors of the case. It is very comfortable for typing. You can easily clean the case with a Lysol wipe because if you touch it with greasy fingers, it will show somewhat. But, it is easy to clean. I love this case and get compliments on it! What's great is that it is so cheap you can get different colors to match the season or your mood. I have had the Serenity Blue color which I would describe as a periwinkle, that is a beautiful color if anyone is interested. I will continue to order these cases in different colors because I love the color choices and they are perfect for what I need, which is light protection of my laptop against scratches. My fabric case does more of the protection against vibration and impact during transport.

I bought this case to be able to regularly swap out colors with another case, and personalize my laptop (via the cases) without damaging the laptop surface. I have been using this case for approximately 2 weeks. It has a slightly rubbery, relatively smooth feel. The case is sufficiently hard and only bends with some force, making it easy to snap on and remove. I believe I could snap the case in half without much effort. I have an A1502 version laptop (mid-2014) and it fits my laptop well. I have had no issues with it being too tight or too loose in areas. I currently also possess the "Airy blue" color version of this case. The blue case and the black case differ in their transparency, with the blue being noticeably opaque. The black, however, is somewhat translucent, allowing the silver of the laptop to show through. This results in a VERY dark grey color, rather than a strong black. I did not mind the color difference, and unless you are relatively good at discerning colors or you are paying close attention, you or anyone else will likely not notice. The translucent quality of the black case also allows a better image of the apple logo at the back of the case. Both cases are a solid color, with no Apple logo placed on the back. Both colors allow the glow from the logo to pass through the case, although with different appearances. The black case allows a sharper edge of the glow to show through, compared to the opaque airy blue, which also lets the apple logo shine through (but to a lesser extent, and more blurry). I did not take photos of the cases before I had already personalized them; thus I will not be providing photos. Note, however, that the photos provided on the item's page is not representative of how the logo appears when the laptop is in use; the colors, on the other hand, appear to be relatively accurate for the black and airy blue cases. EDIT: I have added photos of the insides of the cases for color and opacity comparison purposes. The photos are of either color case, with multiple stickers applied to the front. Both photos were taken 2 minutes apart under the same lighting. From the photos, you can see that the black case allows more light through than the blue. This is not because the blue is lighter and "appears" to let less light through: holding the cases up to a single light source results in the black case letting varying light through depending on the location of the light, while the blue case diffuses the light and illuminates the entire surface.

I docked one star because the case is somewhat see through. I was hoping for a solid black case which is what the photo shows, but the case is more of a somewhat see-through dark grey/black. It's nice if you want to be able to see the light up mac logo through the back. I have stickers on the back of my laptop that I don't want to take off but I also didn't really want to see through the case. The case is very nicely made and seems like it will hold up for a while (my last case lasted about a year before the patter started to wear off and the edges chipped). It fits perfectly and was super easy to install.

This is the perfect case for my October 2013 Macbook Pro (13 inch with Retina display). Easy to install, fits like a glove, and in no way impedes any of the functionality of the computer. And it looks great, too! With a great price, I recommend it without hesitation. Follow-up August 3, 2015: I can say that their customer service is also excellent. Had lost one of the four rubber feet on the bottom and when contacted, they kindly offered to see four replacements ones at no charge. Definitely a company that knows how to treat their customers.

Immense amount of scratch marks and smudge marks have begun to form on the cover only after a week of usage. Wouldnt recommend this cover to anyone.

This is a very good case for the MacBook Pro 13” (Retina). I was originally looking to get this for my personal MacBook Air but the discount code that I got didn't work for that model. Since my work laptop is a MacBook Pro 13" (Retina), I thought that I would try the case on that laptop. I am always a little paranoid about scratching my work devices so I figured this was a happy outcome to a discount code issue. Also, since it was for work, the black colour made the most sense as I need it to look professional for when I am using it during formal meetings. I know that some of the earlier reviews discussed fit issues with the bottom section but based on what I have read, the manufacturer took the feedback and adjusted the design. The fit issue appears to be resolved. Certainly in my case, there isn't any issue. I am including this as people considering buying this laptop case shouldn't be negatively swayed by the older reviews. The case is well built, feels solid and the finish seems quite good. The one negative point that I have seen is that the black one seems to be a bit of a fingerprint magnet. I am sure this is a fairly standard side effect of choosing black. That said, a quick wipe with a cloth is all that is needed to remove the fingerprints. I keep a glasses wipe cloth at my desk so if I am going to a formal meeting, I just give the laptop a very quick wipe and I am all set. Given that showing fingerprints is very common on black coatings, I didn't think it was worth deducting a star for. I did want to share it though so that folks know what to expect and perhaps consider choosing a different colour, depending on their needs. The Apple logo shows through the cover and its glow looks very nice against the dark cover. It snaps on relatively easily and feels very secure on my Macbook Pro. It doesn't slide, move or feel like it's going to fall off. This case doesn't come with instructions but the seller has instructions listed in the product description. I think that it is fairly straight forward so the lack of included instructions isn’t really a big issue. Packaging is very basic (see pictures). The case is very light so it will not add any unnecessary heft to your laptop. Another good feature of the case is that includes a lot of air vents on the bottom as well as built-in feet. This means that the laptop can vent properly and will not overheat due to the addition of a case. I did not notice any difference in the warmth of my laptop after installing the case. I didn't measure the actual temperatures but I can say that any minor difference is not noticeable and definitely shouldn't cause any issues. If you go to buy this type of laptop case in a retail store you will find that they are considerably more expensive. Just checking Best Buy you will notice that prices range from $30 (for the store brand) to $70 (for Speck). The Mosiso is only $20 and if you ask me its quality is better than the low end ones at Best Buy which cost 50% more. This makes the Mosiso a great value. The bottom line is that I really like the assurance that you get from this case protecting your laptop from unintended scratches. It feels secure and flexible so I don't feel like it will harm or scratch my laptop when using it. The black one is good for looking professional but you will have to contend with more fingerprints showing. Based on that, choose the colour which meets your needs best. The manufacturer seems to be very interested in providing very good customer service. Not only did they previously factor in feedback and modify the product accordingly but they print clearly on the packaging that they wish to provide great customer service and list their contact email in large print. For most products you have to go searching to find an email contact to seek support or provide feedback. Mosiso makes it easy by printing it in large letters right on the pack (see attached pic). As I said, this is an indicator that they genuinely welcome feedback.
