While the popcorn is purple, when popped the popcorn will be white. Our popcorn pops strong, minimizing hulls and duds, and has excellent flavor and texture. Country Spoon purple popcorn is perfect for movie night, late night munching, or as a healthy snack for kids. From our Farm Country Spoon and its products were created as a way for us to share the products that we grow on our farm with like-minded consumers around the country. Our farm, RowleyÕs South Ridge Farms, is located in the high mountain valleys of Utah. It is in these valleys that our fruit orchards are grown using time tested principles and techniques that have been passed down for generations. Our fruit is grown at high elevation, close to the sun, in fertile soils, and watered from a mountain creek, factors that all play a part in creating excellent fruit. We take pride in the way that our fruit is grown and processed and feel that it shows in the end productÕs quality.

Ahhh maaahhhh ggaaaahhhh!!!!
I eat popcorn about 3 times a week and popcorn is popcorn so I always thought. I bought this as I am on a quest for the perfect popcorn. I still have other brands to try but I must say how surprised I was when this started coming out of my air popper! The kernels popped up and they are freakin huge!!! Who knew popcorn could be this large! I LOVE IT!!!!I will buy this again but it will take some time as I have a lot of other brands to try.I am not getting any benefit from writing this, I just want to share my pleasant surprise with this popcorn!

Being new at buying mushroom kernels, this product unfortunately produces only about 50% or less of mushroom shaped popcorn. The rest is regular large yellow kernels. This is disappointing as the price and quality doesn’t justify another purchase of this brand ever again. On a good note, if done properly on the stove top, almost all the kernels fully popped and the popcorn itself is crisp and tender even though it’s not completely without hulls so to speak.

It's not the corn, it's the method.
I also was not getting the mushroom shape results that I was expecting when I tried out this corn. First time out, I estimate only 5% were mushroom shaped, the second time around 20%. Come to find out, it's not the corn, it's the process. A little internet research found that in order to get the ball shape, oil must be heated to 400F. Since I am microwaving my corn without oil, the temperature can't be controlled or estimated.Other than that, the corn is on the chewier side although I did not get overwhelmed by husks like some of the other reviewers. Personally, I think I'll stick with regular, organic corn.

Good Popcorn, But....
I was excited to see if this popcorn popped up big like commercial brands, but I only had some kernels "mushroom." Perhaps I'mnot patient enough to let the oil heat high enough to ensure the mushroom shape. The taste is good, but there are may hulls. Still U will keep trying to achieve the full "mushroom effect!"

Just as described
This popcorn was just what I expected for a mushroom popcorn in taste and texture. I thought the price was a bit high for popcorn but less than dome others. I have enjoyed it!

Perfect
Perfect first time! I read that in order to get the mushroom effect, a higher heat should be used. So with coconut oil nearly smoking in my whirly-pop & a 1/4 tsp of flavocol I tossed in the popcorn kernels and within minutes had a beautiful pot full of glorious, round, fully popped popcorn. My grandson said "this is just like kettle corn but without the sugar" which is exactly what I'd hoped for!

Some of the best papcorn on Amazon.
Super fresh, huge kernels, nice and fluffy and firm. Will not fully mushroom in microwave, but will on the stove or theater style popcorn machine. Mushroom popcorn typically needs higher heat to reach full potential. Really wish they it sold in bulk.

A good quality kernel
Great product....kind of costly but a little goes a long way. Just make sure your oil is the right temperature so that you will achieve large fluffy mushroom size popcorn.
