Great experience
Arrived earlier than estimated, in a padded envelope ( which is important with a hardback book) and in perfect condition ( Rated as "very good").

Good Intro into Endurance Riding
This is a great book. Though somewhat dated and some of the information has changed over the years it is still a good basic book for someone looking to start endurance riding or just a good read for someone already involved. It isn't rocket science to do the sport but there are important areas to learn such as conditioning vs just blasting out on the trail; nutritional needs of the horse leading up to the competition, during, and after, plus the physical care of the horse, and how you should prepare. There are a lot of rules in place for endurance as well as competitive trail riding but are there for a good reason...experience being the best teacher.

A must to become a hard core endurance rider
I was lucky to find this "used" for $4.99. It said " very good" condition, actually looks new. I'm devouring this since I been doing endurance for a few years now and have the American Endurance Ride Conference booklet. I found this to be even more eye opening into the sport and gave me tips I didn't know. Havent finished it but enjoying. This is great for someone who wants to do the hard core 50 amd 100 mile races. At this point, I don't want to ride more than 6 hours which is the 25-30 miles limited distance. Still, this is very helpful. I like the way it's written, fast reading, I'm truly enjoying it.

Not what I was expecting
If you are ready to enter an endurance competition, this book will be a very good tool to you, so that you'll know what to expect and what to take. If you are planning on start doing endurance with your horse and aren't sure of how to condition your horse, than this book isn't going to be the tool for that. I think that the writer should talk more about a training plan and on how to get a horse ready for his first competition.

Very helpful for the beginner endurance rider
Lots of information for the beginner endurance rider or anyone who loves to trail ride. Encludes all topics from how to pick an endurance horse, training and riding in an endurance race and how to keep the endurance horse healthy and sound.

Good Book, but Not Enough Detail For Beginners
I liked this book, and I have found many important factors, including the big section on how to be a more balanced rider and the effect it has on your horse. But I feel like this book was more geared toward people who are in it to win it, and people who are going to do 100 mile races, rather than those who just want to cross the finish line in a 25 or 30 mile race. But overall, it was a very informative book.
