A lot of the weber grills list as 22 inches like the model 741001. Will the KettlePizza fit these grills?

Yes. Fits 18 inch and 22 inch grills. Come in the 18 inch size you add the provided spacer for the 22 inch. Love this things friends are always asking to make BBQ pizzas. They line up for them.

How wide is the opening; can you cook an 18" pie?

Opening is 17.5" wide and 3.5" tall. Depending on the size of your pizza stone the largest pizza you could fit is probably about 14".I love my KettlePizza.

Will this fit 18'' jumbo joe ?

What is the advantage of using this over cooking pizza on the Weber grill?

You don't lose heat from opening the lid to remove or check the pizza when it's cooking. Once it gets up to cooking temp...800+ degrees F... you can cook 2-3 pizzas in a row, each one taking about 2-3 minutes total cooking time. You can rotate the pizzas as needed to ensure even cooking without losing heat or burning the hair off the back of your hands. Plus it has a major "coolness" factor. :)
