Nuvo jFlute Beginner Student Flute – White/Blue, Donut Head Joint, Waterproof ABS Plastic

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Longtime flute player here. I broke my arm at the wrist, badly, so during my long rehabilitation, this Nuvo flute helped me get back to playing again. I used the curved head joint at first, but bought a straight head joint for it later. I’m fully recovered, but I will keep this as a fun flute to take to the beach, the park, and keep it set up on a stand for quick practice. This is a real flute, with a sound hard to distinguish from the metal varieties. I highly recommend it as a first flute for children too small to handle a full-sized flute.

Bought as a gift for my daughter's 8th birthday. She loves it. Hoping it will help her get a good start, learning flute, before she is able to join a school band in a few more years. She is using now with the starter "whistle" mouthpiece, I am not super confident it will lead to proper emboucher with the regular mouthpiece, but worth a shot.

The Flute is great! My son is 5 and is doing well with the nuvo flute! He tries to play my daughters nickel flute with a curved head joint but it’s still too heavy for him so this is a great substitute till he gets a bit older!

The problem that I encountered with this flute is that the low D and E notes were difficult to play. I compared my metal flute, side by side, with this plastic flute and there was a night and day difference. The notes were easily played on the metal flute, but not the plastic one. The other notes were OK. Because of this limitation. I sent the flute back. Interestingly, after selling me a flute that didn't work, they had the nerve to charge me a restocking fee of $20. If they advertised this as a toy it would have been a more accurate description. It was advertised as a real flute. I do see possiblities for plastic flutes, and like the idea of non-leather pads. However this flute needs further refinement in it's design.

This float plays pretty good. It keeps floating away, though… keep that in mind before you buy it. 🎈

Bought for a 6 year old, specifically because it's shorter and lighter than a silver flute. It plays just like a full sized one, so long as you don't need middle C! The included case and accessories are very helpful, particularly the 'recorder-style' alternative mouthpiece. Really simplifies getting the first note out of it so the child isn't immediately discouraged.

習い始めは少し吹くと苦しいようで、家での練習は１０分やってすぐやめて、みたいな感じでした。 このフルートなら、組み立てたまま置いておけるので、スキマ時間にちょこちょこ吹いてもらってます。 初めは楽器の「長さ」に慣れず、本棚にごつん、机にごつんとやっておりました。 プラスチックだからいいってわけではないですが、取り返しのつかないようなことにはならず助かりました。 今は扱いにも慣れてぶつけなくなったので、最初これでよかったと思いました。 大人が吹けばそれなりに音も出ますし、可愛い色で子どもも玩具的な愛着があるようで 楽器を買い替えてもなにげに使い続けるだろうと思います。 これはこれで、楽器としてちゃんとしていると思います。軽くて丈夫で海でも山でも吹けるんですから。 今はコロナであれですが、お友達にさっと貸せるのもいいですね。 なんじゅーまんえんもするのは小学生のお友達に気軽に貸せませんし。
