Trigger Point Performance TriggerPoint Universal Double Massage Ball 8-Inch Textured Roller

This is one of my go-to massagers in my collection. Feels great on your back and you can easily throw this thing into a suitcase when you travel. It is very dense and solid but still feels good when you use it. Good for legs, back, and neck.

Very sturdy material and it works super well at stretching my wife and my lower backs and I usually crack at least a few times doing so as well. Excellent ergonomics and good results.

Make sure you know what you're needing this for before purchasing. If you're buying your first foam roller, this is not the product you want. If you're specifically looking for this form of roller to go deep at targeted areas, I can absolutely vouch for this unit, it is the perfect firmness and gets right in there. Seriously though, unless you know what you're doing and have experience or someone to professionally guide you, this product may actually do more harm than good.

Expected it to be softer and foam like….

I was a massage therapist for decades, still do Tuina therapy. One night, recently, the pattern of tension in my right upper back from years of one sided sports massage on pro runners flared so bad I could hardly deal. I worked it out as best I could, stretched, guasha'd what I could reach, foam rolled, etc but it nagged so unceasingly that I started searching Amazon for something to use when it's not feasible to get a massage, like a Thursday night at 10pm. This contraption has been more effective than any tool I've ever used. It quite hard and hurts to use at first. I like super deep pressure so that's not a problem for me but might be for others. I might recommend positioning yourself with the roller under your upper back and a pillow to lie your head on, clasp hands behind head like sit up position, knees bent for stability, then slowly lower yourself back. The pillow will decrease the intensity of the curvature in the spine that the roller creates so you can relax more and ease into it, staying this way until you feel completely relaxed into the roller, then remove the pillow. I have had virtually no tension in my upper back since the first time I used the roller and just purchased a 2nd one for a birthday gift. Can't say enough good things about it. The only issue I have is that I'm on the smaller side and I think a 6 or 7 inch roller would have sufficed.

This product deserves 10 stars. I have always carried stress in my neck and shoulders. For the past year, I’ve tried everything to relieve the stiffness because it got to the point I couldn’t turn my head without pain. I did cardio, weight resistance, yoga, foam rollers, massage, etc. When using the hardest rollers, I was having trouble with them hurting my spine since I’m lighter in weight. I was also unable to get into those neck muscles. After using the Universal Massage Roller, I felt within 24 hours this was very promising. I use it practically every day and in just over a week I have so much more flexibility. I even sleep much better because I’m no longer waking up several times a night with the neck pain. This item was a good value, and designed nicely. The only drawback for me is how slick the surface is. A little bit of texture would aid in handling and use. It’s quite slippery because the plastic is so smooth. Functionally, it does what it promises when used correctly.

Cheaper than 2 alpha balls and the material of the GRID STK will last longer than the alpha balls (alpha balls usually last 15-24 months depending on usage frequency). Not too soft but not too firm (lacrosse) neither, good balance.

I've tried many and this one is the most comfortable and universal. It's well worth the premium price.

I was eyeing Therabody Wave Duo, but bought this instead after reading some reviews and realizing that the vibration function is not that helpful for this kind of roller and is not worth paying extra for. TriggerPoint roller is about the same size as Wave Duo, slightly shorter because the balls are closer to each other, but almost the same diameter. The quality is good. The foam is quite firm to apply some good pressure, but also softish to make your contact with roller comfortable. It's pretty useful for massaging lower back, neck and the suboccipitals. I think it's going to last, especially since there's no motor to fail and batteries to die.
