Dalí. Tarot (Multilingual Edition)

I came across this deck while searching for cheap $8-15 tarot cards to make some mismatched/chaos decks that I’m gifting out to friends. This one caught my eye even though it’s out of the price range. I browsed some of the reviews and thought it may be worth the splurge, as a unique addition into the mismatched decks I’m creating. The ONLY negative thing I have to say about this deck, is that it’s well above the standard 2.75/4.75” tarot size (I’ve added a few pictures with a standard size RWS card beside for reference) and it’s not annotated in the product description. I opted not to crop the cards as I’ve done with other decks for this project, and keep them as an intact set because of how unique these cards are to all my personal decks. The entire set is beyond gorgeous and extremely high-quality. I’ve seen artisan decks of a fraction of the quality and effort, printed in China, be hot sellers for double/triple the price. The author has taken tremendous care to narrate a story behind each card that aligns beautifully with universal tarot descriptions while simultaneously bringing Dali’s work to life. Although this deck may be used as a substitute for any other typical tarot reading, I’ve decided to refrain from reading them reversed and creating spreads like I would with a normal tarot deck, and use them purely for single-card oracle reading. This is partially due to the enormous size of the cards, but also because the author does such an excellent job at bringing Dali’s art to life. You could spend hours examining one card, with or without the accompanying guidebook. It’s as profound as walking through an art gallery in that respect.

I was not expecting it to be so huge! The box is gigantic and covered in velvet. The guidebook is just as big with tons of valuable information! The cards are beautiful. I’m so excited to start using this deck!

This is so much more than I expected. I ordered it and then had buyers remorse and tried to cancel it, but amazon sent it anyway. The cards are beautiful and high quality, as is the box and book that come with it. The book is so detailed and having a multilingual edition helps a lot, living in a state that’s almost 50/50 in languages spoken by the citizens. It has English, Spanish, German, and French. The cards are very tall, taller than any other deck I own, so shuffling is difficult, especially with my small hands, but not impossible. Definitely will take some practice. Some of the imagery is a bit of a stretch and it’s a bit more abstract/composite style so it’s not all in Dalí style like you may be accustomed to. Overall, it was a great buy, even better since amazon helped me out with a refund since they couldn’t cancel my order.

I absolutely love this tarot deck, it is a must have for anyone’s collection. The artworks are gorgeous, and the sensation of the cards is a delight.

This is a great buy! I saw this at an art museum in Barcelona and didn't have any more room to bring it back. The interpretation is straight-foward useful advice!

I can see why everyone else loves it, but I so don’t. This deck was on my “save for later” list for a long time. I finally bought it and I kinda wish I hadn’t. I think this is one of those decks that you either love or don’t love, so I gave it 4 stars, but tbh, it’s a 1 star for me. I thought I’d love it, but I’ll probably never even open it again. The packaging is impressive. The huge purple box is obnoxiously large, nowhere to put it, and really gorgeous. The cards themselves are thin, flimsy, and extremely long, so shuffling is hella awkward. Even hand-over-hand is weird, maybe I’m just not graceful enough. If the art is really your style, you might love this. I actually kinda hate it.

Amazing quality. It’s a pure pleasure to hold cards. The pictures are difficult to read without knowing Dali’s philosophy. The book helps a lot. Once you learned the meanings of his symbols, reading is getting easy and deep.

スペインでダリ美術館に行った際に実物のスケッチを観た記憶があり、タロットカードをアイテムとして欲しくなったので、思わず買ってしまったのですが、大満足。素敵なカードです。ダリ好きとしては、必要以上に丁寧に扱っています。

Gorgeous set of tarot deck and book in a nice box. Buy it while its still available

Ik heb dit item ontvangen. Het zat in een plastiek folie, toen ik het open deed bleek de zeer mooie doos gescheurd aan de binnenkant, ter hoogte van de rechter bovenhoek. De kaarten zelf leken nogal donker geprint en de doos en het boek enorm groot. Maar desalniettemin zou ik het accepteren als natuurlijk de doos niet gescheurd zou zijn. Dus ik stuurde het pakket retour. Vandaag ontving ik de vervanging. Ik deed die nog voorzichtiger open dan anders.. Haalde de doos uit de folie. Nu bleek de doos opnieuw gescheurd, maar aan de linker boven hoek... Hoe dat kan, geen idee. De doos zat opnieuw in een folie verpakt.. Ik heb gemengde gevoelens bij dit deck. De doos is prachtig, maar het moest voor mij echt niet zo enorm groot zijn. Boek idem. Als er dan toch per se 3 talen in moeten, dan mag het voor mijn part eerder in aparte secties of in 3 afzonderlijke boekjes, want je leest toch maar één taal. En de kaarten op zich zijn interessant en mooi, maar de manier van drukken of de kleuren doen de hele expressie wat teniet.. Heel bijzonder dus 🙃 ik weet niet wat ik ervan moet denken of vinden... dus ik hoop dat ik deze tweede versie opnieuw retour kan sturen, en straks niet opnieuw de eerste gescheurde doos ontvang...!

Les éditions Tashen ne déçoivent jamais ! La boîte est grandiose et en velours, le livre est en couleur et les cartes, magnifiques, sont placées dans un écrin doré … c’est un grand collector!
