Beautiful recipe book, amazing recipes & photos
I love recipe books, I'm a "repeat offender". But this recipe book is probably one that I love the most. The recipes are unique, yet simple, easy to follow & readily available ingredients that aren't difficult to find. I like the stories behind some of the recipes. The photos are beautiful & enticing - they make me want to cook each & every recipe with many options from vegetarian to seafood to meat. I've cooked a number of the recipes so far & have loved them all. I would highly recommend this book. I've learnt so much about middle-eastern food, beyond the usual meals.

A fantastic book
I am very impressed with the book. The recipes look wonderful and I like books like this where you get a feeling for the area the recipes originate and stories of local people. Today I will make the baked kofte with aubergine and tomatoes as I have all the ingredients though I will use just beef mince as I don’t have any lamb mince. I am flexiterean so am pleased there are so many vegetable based recipes-I made the cauliflower fritters yesterday and they are even better cold than hot. The chopped salad is great too. I have the ingredients to make the chickpea and marrow or courgettes in yoghurt so I’ll make that today too as it looks good-the photos are really helpful as it helps in regards to unfamiliar recipes. Over all a fantastic book.

Well written, colourful pictures and cheerful outer cover
I purchased this book after joining in on a Zoom call with the authors during Covid-19 lockdown. I had never heard of them or the book before but was so interested in trying their recipes. The book is such a pretty book on the outside, great coffee table book. The recipes themselves are really interesting and nice to try. I did have to purchase a fair few spices first from wholefoods.com however really worth it as some really good recipes I will be doing alot more. Really cheered me up during Covid-19 to have some interesting different recipes to try. Not to mention I really love pretty recipes books to put on my bookshelf.

Beautiful, well-written and AMAZING food
Love a cookbook and this is definitely a current favourite. A cookbook with soul! So many stunning recipes to choose from, but adored Hassan's Easy Eggs, really simple and yet absolutely delicious. Like Ottolenghi's Jerusalem I like having a slice of someone's life in a recipe book and this is life that deserves to be seen and tasted. Just gorgeous.

Recipes, Variations, And WHY You do things...
This is one of the best cook books I have. It's broken into categories: breakfast, snacks, main dishes, vegetarian dishes, deserts. There are recipes that assume purchased items, like pita bread, but give a page number so you can make your own pita bread if you wish. Ingredient substitutions are offered. There is also an explanation for why a procedure is used. There is an explanation of why Falistan is used rather than Palestine - first, there is no P in Arabic. Second, those who use the cooking techniques and recipes call themselves different names: Israili Palestinians, Arabs, Canadians... the Palesinian diaspora have adopted different names to reflect their dispersal, but still maintain the same cooking traditions. There is also an online source of ingredients that might be difficult to find in a local supermarket.

Beautiful book
Beautiful cookbook with lovely stories about the people of Palestine. This book not only has some wonderful recipes it provides an insight into the rich culture of the Palestinian people who are currently living under such horrific circumstances.

i bought Jerusalem by sami and ottolenghi and loved and cooked most of its recipes it made me realize a palastinian cousine is way more than Manaeesh and zaatar and was abit hesitate about getting falastine book, thought it might be a repitition of something that i already have. buts its Not am glad i bought it. it complete the journey and adds alot of healthy, simple, uncomplicated recipes that has alot of soul in it.

Cookbook that you will reach for again and again
I purchased this cookbook in December 2020. 5 years later, it is the cookbook we reach the most for. It has stood the test of time in being useful, easy to read and informative. Our favorite recipes to make are definitely the chicken shawarma pie, Balilah, kofta with tahini potato onions, Sifha (open meat pie) and of course, the knafeh.
