SONY VHS / S-VHS Video Head Cleaner Review: BETTER THAN VCR REPAIR - I was scared that I might need to get one of my twin Sony VCR's repaired! As Long as I've had them I've never had to clean the heads SO I guess I was way overdue! I had to run the cleaner through the VCR twice because it was so bad but the second time was the charm! NOW this cleaner is a pricey but we don't live in the VCR era anymore and you can't clean them like a cassette tape deck so what can you do?! I refused to pay for DVR! That should be part of the ridiculous price of cable that KEEPS going up every year!! Review: Worked like magic on my Sony Player - I have a Sony Dvd/VcR player. The picture on the videos was coming in on and off and the tracking was rolling but I got great sound. Put this tape cleaner in twice for 10 seconds and everything is great! If it doesn't work the first 10 sec., try it again because that worked for me. Use for up to 50 cleanings. Do not rewind after each use until you get to the end (about 50 cleanings it says).

Doesn't Work: A Rip Off
It doesn't spin. When Play is chosen, counter remains at zero. My VCR is a Sony so although cheaper ones wouldn't work like my ancient Maxell Cleaner did, I thought this higher priced on would be authentic. I guess I was wrong. I think that if Amazon wants to keep people's trust and business they should not sell things that do not work. We spent over $50 on this tape. That would pay for half a year of Prime or a very nice order from the Prime Pantry.We have not heard back from Amazon or the supplier. Usually I get something IMMEDIATELY. I wonder if they know it's a rip-off.

THIS CLEANER GOT MY VCR CLEANED MOST OF THE WAY.
I thought this was a good VCR Head Cleaner, and it is. My screen was very dirty and this cleared most of everything. I wish that the tape was longer so it could clean more of the VCR.

served my purpose
still using my vcr's. yea, know they are out of style, but have over 90 tapes. not going to throw them out. plus have over 120 mini tapes that i recorded with my camera. too expensive to transfer. not sold in stores anymore. lucky to find this one and it worked.

I could not find this item in other places. I am very lucky & happy to have this item. No problems in using it to clean up my VHS Sony video player.

The tape did not improve the quality of the vhs tapes when played. I ended buying a wet cassette head cleaner which worked much better. So overall it looks like I wasted my money.
