Excellent hybrid (on location/in the studio) parabolic softbox
OVERVIEW I currently mostly do on location work outdoors and am transitioning to studio work for the rainy seasons and to broaden my customer base. Since I still plan on doing a lot of on location work I want to ensure all of my equipment works equally well in a studio as it does breaking down and setting up on location. This softbox is my first light diffusion purchase for the hybrid studio/on location approach. SETUP Right out of the box this was a breeze to set up, I watched some YouTube videos of some other softboxes and there is no way I would want one of those for an on location shoot. I had this out of the box and up on the C stand with a studio strobe in less than 20 minutes. Most of the time was spent unboxing and connecting the inner and outer diffusion panels. For future setups I foresee this taking less than 5 minutes since the inner and outter panels can stay connected. BREAKDOWN For my studio I plan on breaking down almost all of the equipment after every photo shoot, so that if I need to do a location shoot I can just grab what I need and go vs. breaking down the equipment first. Also, I don't trust leaving this softbox setup because it seems like the ribs might eventually weaken if it is always up. The breakdown was even faster than the setup, took me all of a minute after getting it off of the studio strobe to breakdown the softbox and another minute to stuff it into the carrying case. QUALITY -Softbox - this softbox so far seems like serious quality, the ribs are high quality, the locking bowens mount is solid metal, and speaking of the mount, the rotational screw is on the outside, unlike some that require you to loosen the screw by taking apart the diffusion panels. -Carry bag - one of my pet peeves is vendors who put a lot of time and attention into the product but make the bag an afterthought; especially when it comes to the zippers. Nicefoto did not do this; the carry bag does not require the softbox to be perfectly broken down into its smallest possible shape and the zippers while mediocre seem like they may last a while; still not top quality but with care they may hold together. -Bowens Mount - this is critical to ensuring that the softbox does not come down on a client's head and so far it seems top quality; solid metal and rotates smoothly when the screw is loosened. -Material - the material is pretty heavy duty, including the diffusion panels and the grid. CONCLUSION Overall this is a great softbox for the price, I only wish Nicefoto made other types of modifiers such as strip boxes, umbrellas, beauty dishes, etc. When I find a vendor that I like I try to stick with them for all of my equipment in that category. An Amazon search did not turn up much more than more parabolic softboxes so I will have to go with other vendors for other modifiers. I will update this review with images once I have used this softbox in the studio, but I'm sure everyone has seen plenty of potraits shot with large softboxes and I'm equally sure that these will probably look just like every other softbox; which is not a bad thing.

Don't think twice, just buy!
Bought the 47 inch and loved it so much i purchased the 35.4 inch as secondary. Sturdy build, easy to assemble and disassemble, and surprisingly lightweight. The bigger one came with some white scratches as shown in the picture, not sure what is, but nothing worth returning it over. I uploaded some photos i took in the same studio you see in the video. Camera: Canon R6 Lens: RF 50mm L 1.2 ISO 400. Flash: Godox V860 III C Diffuser: 47in in the picture above. I only used one flash, with a soft box continuous light at 5600k, and a continuous light focus on the right side of the backdrop. This diffuser did a great job with coverage and soft lighting. This was my first ever shoot, I a new photographer. these photos are straight out of the camera. No post editing.

Get it.
Hands down the best bang for your buck soft box and makes amazing photos! The click latch system is genius and makes it setup and tear down really fast. Like veeeery fast! Also it’s super sturdy so you can handle it well. 2 months follow up: still working great with a couple notable quirks. First, the arms come out of their mounting pockets at the front sometimes during storage. Not too bad but adds a couple minutes to the setup. Second, the push thumbs are easy once you get the right motion down. The head screws with the springs will loosen up a little over time and they have fallen off on a couple. Still a solid 4.5 stars though because it is quick and beautiful. I use it 5-10 times a week for both strobes and video lights. Amazing for the price

Pretty nice but lots of loose parts
I used these this last weekend and the are overall pretty nice. But do yourself a favor and tighten all the button caps on the lock buttons. I almost lost one. I checked the rest and all but a couple were loose, some were about to fall off as well. If you are using these with speed lights you will need a pretty powerful light, I was using a 580EXII as a accent light in one and I had to have it at max power to get much out. I have since adapted them to work on my Photogenic lights.

Aputure Dome II Killer?
This is a great and an easy softbox to use and setup. The rods are all attached - just pull up and secure - takes less than a few minutes. Much easier than trying to setup and align 16 individual rods. This is exactly like the Aputure Dome II, but at half the price. It also has the same 2 levels of diffusion. I am using this softbox with an Aputure 120d Mark II - looks and works great! This softbox also comes with a grid for light shaping instead of having to purchase this item seperately. I would not hesitate to purchase again or to highly recommended! You will not be disappointed.

Very nice!
This thing is very well-made and easy to set up and tear it down. It cost a fraction of what the brand names cost and works just as well.

Not so durable
I purchased this item 01/20. The softbox looks and works great but in my second use one of the rods fixed to the mount come off from place. Still works but always have to place the rod back in place when setting up. Today is 01/16/20

Wouldn't trade straight up for a light dome ii. This is great!
Best large softbox value for the money. I haven't found anything even close for this price. It has an internal diffusion baffle which helps eliminate hot spots on your skin, etc. This feature is a must. We bought the 4' version, and I'll say it actually travels pretty well and is quick to setup. As for any lower priced camera gear- I would keep the setup/tear down to a minimum so it doesn't wear out, but so far so good.
