Wow
Really, there is so much this pedal can do it's hard to express in a review. The free desktop editor app is a must have as it unlocks the full potential of the pedal with different routing options and effects to apply, but out of the box you can tweak the presets and get very usable sounds. Source Audio is really revolutionizing guitar/bass effect pedals. If you go with full MIDI implementation the possibilities are almost endless. Also, Chicago Music Exchange was the perfect vendor - quick shipping and no hassles.

Mind. Blown.
This pedal is the shizzle! After years of buying lame overpriced pedals in search of the perfect bass synth sound, I found an answer to my prayer! If you're a tweaker, you'll spend your quarantine time in ecstacy playing with the many parameters you can adjust via your PC or phone! Out of the box, it was easy to set up and use, I was able to quickly find a couple of presets to groove with! Definitely worth the bucks! I'll have fun with this for years to come!

Amazing magic box of synth
So much more than a stomp box. If you only want a simple stomp box, this is not for you. If you enjoy going down the tweaker rabbit hole, this is your ticket. Best when used with a midi switch that also behaves as a USB hub, like the DMC micro by Disaster Area designs.

Get ready to program
Volume jumps broke my ears!!! Hard to set unity gain for all the patches and even harder to do on the fly. For studio use, would be fun if you have the time. EXCELLENT tracking and tones--just don't want to spend hours on the computer getting it all right.

Not bad but there are better sounding AND easier to use pedals
I bought this pedal really to do one sound, a growling slow filter sweep synth sound so my bass could sit better in with a project that had EDM elements. I was impressed with the videos but in real life, with my bass rig, I found the sound to be thin and metallic, and not in a good way. The Enzo Meris pedal, which I also played sounded FAR juicier and you could control the sounds more from the knobs. If ease of use is what you want, then the slightly cheaper Roland Boss Sy-1 can do almost all the sounds this pedal can do and it tracks slightly better (I found a little latency with most sounds on my C4).So, overall, I give it a meh, especially at the price. It's nice to have full tweakability via a laptop but honestly, it doesn't sound good enough to ME to warrant the effort. YMMV

it was a gift..
this was a gift to my son who is using it along with an LTD 6 string bass. I really don't know anything about this pedal,,, I just know that my son loves it. I'm hearing some great effects when he plays now.

Maybe it works from a phone, but not from a PC!
I read the manual before purchase, and it looked like you could specify a note range for (one or more?) the four voices, but did not seem to work. Ugly bass frequencies leaked all over the octaves, creating huge spitting booming sonic messes with simple lead guitar. I play piano style 7 string guitar and hoped it could separate the bass strings, like a Boss OC3 does. Seems like a requirement for any synth, to specify a frequency range for the voice!Returned!Source Audio C4 Synth produces mostly ugly sounds, the cross-over note range function didn't do anything, updated the firmware, then I explored for about 18 hours learning software and editing voices, next day the software couldn't recognize the device, rebooted computer, recognized device but showed only the original 6 voices, closed software and re-opened, the lost voices (downloads and edits) reappeared but the editing software unresponsive and does not change settings when changing voices, but the sounds do change. Enough frustration for ugly sounds. I just wanted to color the sound of the guitar and add bass frequencies (the note range does go down to a limit of 5 string bass (for a seven string guitar) but no effect, so maybe someday? Really did not like the interface; instead of graphic representation of signal flow and waveforms, we get huge dropdown lists of settings with very little percievable difference in effect, but then I didn't thoroughly learn the software. There's also a WYSIWYG option that I didn't dare to try....Here's an Amazon description that DOES NOT FIT the C4 Synth (seems to pertain to something called Mercury):"Three styles of flanger including Classic Flange, Thru-Zero Flange, and a highly resonant style of flanger called Shadow Flange. Download additional phaser and chorus algorithms or access a deep editing system with the Neuro Mobile App for iOS and Android. Pair the Mercury with the Neuro Hub and save up to 128 presets recallable with MIDI program change messages from an external MIDI foot controller."Only wasted two days on the thing. Good luck.

Great sounds but bad connectivity
Sounds great options good. However software and connectivity options makes it too difficult and expensive to use in a live format. Phone app makes it too noisy with cable connection. Compared to Eventide, TC Electronics, Line 6 or others it not worth the expensive price for the editing options. The Neuro hub and midi foot switch is needed to switch grouped pedal presets. This can’t be done with USB cables and app. The app must be connected to the internet to switch and save presets on individual pedals. When you pay extra for the hub the app becomes slower with more steps. The hub doesn’t communicate with the USB connections of each pedal just the TRRS cables. Makes for too many cables and extra products to buy in order to enjoy. The hub is limited to 5 pedals then you have to buy more products. Too many gimmicks and not enough time spent on ease of use. Sad for such a good sounding product. Not worth the price until they rework the app and connectivity issues.
