Squalane Cleanser, Facial Cleansing Balm and Hydrating Makeup Remover

This is kind of magical to me. It starts as a balm, becomes an oil when you emulsify it in your hands, then spreads beautifully as you massage it onto your face, dissolving EVERYTHING, including sunscreen and waterproof mascara, and then rinses off with zero residue, with your barrier 100% intact and your skin not depleted. Squalane is much like skins sebum which was a brilliant choice to use as the base instead of all the plant or synthetic oils used in all the other oil cleansers and balms.

Okay, I bought this on a whim. I have pretty severe sebaceous hyperplasia. I have had chemical peels. I’ve had them burned off, frozen, I’ve used topical retin A from my dermatologist. It always rages back. I saw a review say this stuff shrinks them and makes them much less visible. I was put off by the price, but let’s face it, I’ve dropped a lot more than this.My first wash, I did not use anything to remove my make up. I wanted to see if this got rid of it by what was left when I used my toner. Initially, I thought this stuff would be greasy. IT IS NOT! It COMPLETELY MELTED MY MAKE UP AWAY! I have used it daily for about two weeks. It is unlike anything I have ever used. It leaves my face clean, but not dry. It isn’t oily either, like some make up removers that then require soap and water. I have purchased most of the face cleaners in Ulta. I have never, in my oily 57 years, used anything like this. The price point is amazing considering what it does. It even removed my waterproof mascara???? I don’t know what is in this, and frankly I do not care. It’s hot where I live, and my SH is not growing. My skin feels clean. It’s not dry. It’s not greasy. I write reviews only occasionally, but I want others who have struggled with oily skin issues for years to know there’s something out there for us. I can’t speak to dry skin, but it feels extremely gentle. Am I rid of my excess oil completely? No, but I have other solutions in my toolbox for that. I will do without other things to buy this again and again. I love other products from The Ordinary, but THIS one is the Holy Grail. I still have bumps from SH. However, they are almost flat, and much less noticeable. For my fellow sufferers out there, this helped me. They’re no longer the first thing I see when I look in the mirror. I don’t feel like people see them and wonder what the heck is on my face. Many thanks to The Ordinary for a decently priced, effective product that does what it says.

Follow the directions, this is Fabulous! Used on dry skin or wet this cleanser & makeup remover is sensitive, non drying, and leaves you with skin that honestly feels younger and nice to the touch. There is no scent and no type of reaction. I have Older Woman skin and these natural ingredients are true! It priced right as well & Cruelty Free!!!

Best skin in decades after 1 week!!! I’m in my 50’s and have struggled with blemishes my entire adult life. I’ve consulted with aestheticians and tried everything from drugstore products to expensive products recommended by aestheticians. As I get older it has become more difficult to find a cleansing and moisturizing routine that doesn’t exasperate breakouts. I highly recommend your product line!!

I would have given it 5 stars had the bottle not been HALF FREAKING FULL! RIDICULOUS! IT's already so small! You may get 15 MAX washes out of this! So the price really isn't great at all! But GOLLY DOES IT WORK! It's so weird! I have been looking for a replacement to the OLD FORMULA of Cetaphil (Gentle) Cleanser. (The new one is GOD AWFUL!) This just MAY be it? The only thing I don't like is hpw shiny my face is afterward... SO I'm still looking. But this is good stuff! I would like to have something where I don't have to put ANY facial makeup on afterward! The old Cetpahil used to make my skin GLOW/RADIANT/TONED/ETC.! The new one makes my blotchy and red! THE GENTLE ONE! This stuff definitely makes my glow, but too shiny.

This product was recommended to me as a gentle cleanser and I must say that I am very surprised. I note use it as the first step in my routine and I have seen improvements in just two days. Is very moisturizing and leaves my skin soft after rinsing it off, I also noticed my skin doesn’t get as dry as fast as when I use this first. The size or amount of product is very little but you don’t need much. It’s the perfect size for travel out of you want to test the product out first-a little goes a long way. It’s a good value for the price. The quality is…decent I definitely give it five stars in the lack of fragrance, easy to apply effectiveness. It is a little stickier than I like, so I use a little more than recommended to get the glide that I am comfortable with when managing my face. I am going to purchase the larger product soon. This is now a fav. (Update) This product is much better applied to a wash wet face or damp hands.

Very good for makeup removal and for use as a cleanser. just emulsify after you apply the balm. If you apply with wet fingers it will change delivery and be less effective

First of all, this has an oily texture so if you have acne or prone to spots you may want to check it with your skin doctor first. In my experience I can say that I absolutely love this product and it does clean and prepares my skin very well for the serum/cream after.

I did love this face cleanser except you have to use this on a dry face which is hard in the shower. It didn’t help with my dry skin but I am using a different ordinary face cleanser that is working great.

This is really one of the best cleansers ever, only rival is Cerave IMO. Takes off make up really well
