LED Aquarium Hood 24 in x 12 in, Low-Profile Fish Tank Cover with Hidden Lighting

Perfect fit. Only minr issue is have is the light falling off if you bump it but it is a good quality lid. Very bright light.

This hood was easy to install and it fit my 30-inch tank perfectly and instantly upgraded the look of my aquarium. The hidden LEDs give off just the right amount of light...bright but not harsh. It’s low-profile and sleek, and I love how easy it is to open for feeding or maintenance. Works perfect! Great value for the price!

This hood is a good value. It was easy to put together. The lights are great for my 10 gallon tank. I think the lid looks great on my tank. I like the fact that when I clean my tank I can see into the tank so much easier. I also like the opening to feed my fish, it doesn’t get clogged with old fish food. The lid is lite but seems durable. I like that it lifts straight up , although it doesn’t stay up on its own so when I had to put water in the tank someone had to hold it open for me. I would recommend this lid, my fish are happy.

This is a great product. My plants love it. However our red eye tetras hide away when the lights are on - we don't see them all day long. Only when we switch the lights off, they come out. Cory cats also hide from this light but less, they are too busy sniffing around to be bothered by any light for too long. They tolerate it better. Black Mollies were absolutely OK with this light. Depends on your fish. It could be nice to have a dimmer, but otherwise, nice hood. Edit: we have this hood for over two years now. Some of LEDs don't work well any longer, probably due to a corrosion by water vapors. The photo of decaying LEDs on our hood are attached. The disabled LEDs created sort of a gradient light effect, which I actually like, and my fish enjoys, but my plants in the darker part don't. So we asked if the manufacturer had a replacement for the LEDs, for which they answered that "No, but the customers could buy other LED lights of their choice on the market". Indeed there are many LEDs on the market, but I bought this product because I liked these LEDs. Instead of seeing a business opportunity in purchase of consumables, the manufacturer sends their customers to look somewhere else. Weird. I wish there was a replacement for these specific LEDs!

Fit my 20 Long perfectly. Was out of stock whenever I placed my order but these style lids are uncommon in my area so I was willing to wait. I was afraid it might not come back into stock, but it did, and it didn't even take very long. Two weeks to a month maybe? The only thing I would say you should know about this tank lid is that the lights that come with it by default are very bright white lights. If that's what you're looking for, then great, you're all set. But personally that didn't work for the deep sea theme I wanted, so I just got some cheap color light bars of my own to attach to it and give it that nice deep blue color. Overall, it's exactly what you'd expect. A bit pricey and hard to get ahold of, but if you've got the time to wait, even if this lid is listed on Amazon as out of stock, go ahead and put your order in. It didn't take long for one to get to me.

As other reviewer have said, it does fit my tetra tank perfectly size wise, so it felt like my only choice from the same manufacturer as the tank. The material of the hood is very cheaply built. It's flimsy, and the tank cover was already warped so it doesn't sit flat on the tank. I was disappointed that the hood costs half again as much as the tank -- I would have been okay with this if the material quality matched my expectations, or maybe okay if the hood was priced about half what it is here. While the tank seems like it has good quality materials, this hood feels like very cheap, thin materials, so as a consumer I get the feeling like maybe Tetra was using a pricing strategy rather than trying to give me the best quality. The cutouts only have a few choices, so in order to get the filter in the right spat, I had to cut out the larger cutout than I wanted, then I taped part of it back on to increase the coverage, which means you can see tape on my tank hood -- not a good look. I also found the wire length to the light switch seems very short. My only option is for the light switch to be behind the tank, which is far from convenient and requires me bending down and under the table to switch it on or off. This also felt cheap to me, especially considering that the rest of the power cable is much longer. I plan to eventually buy another hood from another manufacturer instead.

This hood perfectly fits my 20 gallon tank, but it is made of cheap plastic and the clip part on the lid broke when trying to attach to the clip. That part of the lid is one of the most important since it connects the hood to the tank, but is also the most flimsy and delicate and should be reinforced better. The led light strip is not attached to the hood which isn’t a huge deal, but it is really bright for the size of the tank. I had to cover 5 of the 9 lights to make it so my fish weren’t stressed. It’s an ok hood overall, but for the quality, I think it is way too expensive.

These lights really made a huge difference in my aquarium.

I bought this hood for an open-top aquarium, and I couldn’t be happier. It not only improves the look of my aquarium but also solves two major problems: lighting and keeping curious cats away. Pros: Built-in LED lights provide a nice daylight effect that makes fish colors pop Lightweight and easy to lift for feeding or cleaning Prevents cats from getting into the tank. Feeding hole is perfectly sized for an automatic fish feeder Cons: Because it’s lightweight, it may shift if bumped (I used a bit of tape to secure it, works perfectly) Not dimmable, so lighting is either on or off.

Great lid, fits perfectly

I have a 10 gallon tank and this fit in the old fashioned frame from the old lid perfectly. The lights were a bit tricky but if you star from the end closest to where the plug goes it goes rather nicely. Lights are a tight fit so I'm not worried about them falling into the tank. The lights look great in the tank and really bring out the background I purchased.
