Look no further, this is the one!
This is my 4th attempt at trying to find a mat replacement for my Technics SL-D2 turntable. The original has lost nearly all of its visco-elastic properties; but, it's to be expected. It's 40 years old. I will not go too much into first attempt; but, I'll admit that it was more or less my fault, felt. I was going for aesthetics; but, what was shipped was the wrong color, and well, the static cling present right out of the package,... Nope! So back it went. For my 2nd attempt, after reading a many a varied review, I decided to go with a cork mat. Wrong Again! I'll just say that the static cling emanating from it nearly required a spatula to separate it from the bottom of the album every time I removed an album from the turntable platter. Next I tried "leather". Looks good, sounds okay; but, again with the static. I'm like, let me check my ground. Nope, all good at the receptacle snug metal contact. So at this point I'm discouraged as I'm back to the original nearly hard as nails mat. But then just by chance, there it was. Ywhomal's Turntable Rubber Mat. It's a mirror image of the original that's on my SL-D2. Exact same thickness, diameter, everything. Even the grooves... I am literally blown away. Top shelf quality. Take it from me, if you're looking for a rubber mat to replace the original on your vintage turntable, newer model; or whatever, look no further becasue this is the one!

Where the rubber meets the vinyl!
Back in 2015 I happened to pawn a nice Technics sld 2:02 direct drive turntable at an estate sale for 20 bucks. The cartridge and the head shell were mangled and the dust cover was ruin and the rubber mat looked pretty shoddy. With a little TLC I got up things up and running in very little time. First of all.. I made sure that the motor was working and it was although a little sluggish but I knew what to do. A drop or two of light silicone motor oil and we were good to go. I already had the fantastic audio file sure m97xe phone cartridge on hand mounted in an SME type head shell that I purchased here for about 17 bucks. It is still available on this website for that price which is phenomenal! Also the tonearm counterweight inside threads were a little bit rough so I thoroughly cleaned him with an alcoholic wipe and the counterweight went on as expected. After cleaning the pitch control with some WD-40 electronic spray that I purchased here also for a reasonable price I manage to get the speed of the turntable pretty sturdy and the strobe working properly. Now all I needed was to address the beat up original rubber mat. Lo and behold this product presented itself to me LOL and I'm glad it did! The seller described it as suitable for a Technics turntable and indeed it is! At least I think so. That is reasonable price it really cannot be beat and only requires an occasional cleaning with a wipe of sorts to maintain its beauty and aesthetically pleasing quality. It grabs the record rather nicely and minimizes static and don't listen to that guy who suggests using these rubber mats as Frisbees LOL. There is always one of those nose up in the air snobs that think they're the ultimate audio files that would have you believe that. In my 74 years of life I've been around the block a few times with audio equipment so I know what I'm doing. This is supposed to be a fun hobby and indeed it can be with minimal cost to you if you use your head. Remember you ultimately are the judge of a given piece of equipments performance. I'd say for the price this rubber mat performs rather well it's intended use. The prices quite reasonable and the shipping and the packaging was more than adequate and quite fast. Happy listening...PJSII GOD BLESS YOU!

Does MOST of What I Expected
I have a ProJect Debut Carbon Eco which (ridiculously) shipped to me with a thin, felt platter topper atop the all metal core platter. In winter, that felt cover turns into a static magnet, ruining the listening quality of vinyl. But enough about ProJect's cheapness on a supposed higher-quality turntable. I bought this replacement to do a few things. First, to upgrade the stability of the platter, second to reduce static. Well... it is a solid piece of rubber (although the multi-depth rings on the platter are a bit more than odd - my guess they're either cost savings via less rubber used or for appearance sake). At any rate, it fits my platter well and I have no problem removing albums from atop it, as others have reported in reviews. I *did* expect better static control comparing the rubber of this product to the simple felt from ProJect. And MAYBE I hear a reduction - maybe - but not enough for me to give it an enthusiastic four stars. This rubber platter topper is definitely an upgrade from what ProJect shipped me from the factory - it looks good, is dense and thick enough to be of good quality, but dust didn't do enough for me in static reduction to be four stars. Overall, I'd purchase it again, especially given the silly thin, static-magnet felt that ProJect used.

Mat. Rubber. Life changing.
It's definitely a turntable mat. And yes, it is also rubber. Static is improved.

Beware!
Be aware that this mat does not fit all platters. This will not fit into the recessed area on my vintage Akai turntable. Also the spindle hole is a bit over sized resulting it being a little off center if not placed properly. At the moment a mismatched platter mat is better than no mat so I will be keeping it for now.

Buy This Mat
I learned the hard way and ordered a felt mat first. A little bit of static but it was light and always stuck to the record when taking it off. I then bought a cork mat. It looked cool but had static and light weight which resulted it in sticking to the record as well. This mat is perfect. Itโs heavy and doesnโt produce much static. I can finally pick up my records without peeling the mat off under it. Thank you!

Yes, it's good.
The original mat for my turntable has hardened as you might expect for rubber that's about 45 years old, so I was looking for a replacement. Tried cork, didn't like it; all kinds of issues with static and bits of cork on my records, and the one I got was thinner than advertised. There's a lot of contradictory advice and straight up bogus marketing out there, so after making a breakdown of the different options (velvet, acrylic, etc) and their pros and cons, I decided silicone rubber was my best bet and after trying this I believe I was correct. It doesn't cling to the records at all, there's zero slippage, the sound I get is very rich, and as a bonus it looks cool. If you need a replacement mat, or just want an upgrade from a crap mat you got with your turntable, this is it.

This is the upgrade most of you need from your felt mats.
Works perfectly with my LP120x. Like seriously, i've tried a bunch of different mats to varying results. The stock felt mat, cork mats, even acrylic mats. All of those have their own issues. Cork left residue on the vinyl, and felt mats had SO MUCH static that it stuck to the vinyl half the time... Acylic is fine but mine was not cut well and was too small, meaning it was difficult to remove the vinyl when you were done with it, and often times you wound up pulling up both the vinyl and the acrylic mat. But this rubber mat? Fantastic. Thick enough that it doesnt feel cheap, and heavy enough that it wont stick to your vinyl when static occurs. Now, that being said, yes static WILL still happen. But its much easier to manage and honestly, it doesnt bother me anymore since it never gets stuck on my vinyl. It also looks great, and just feels solid. Sound wise? Honest answer is i cant tell a difference between cork, rubber, felt, and acrylic. But this rubber mat has the best use experience for me.
