Great little unit for the price
Got this Cd storage unit in the mail today - super fast delivery Amazon thank you! The unit looks and feels very sturdy and is heavier than I thought it would be but not an issue - if anything this adds to its potential longevity. Put CDs in already - it of course accommodates standard size single jewel cases but I can also fit plastic box sets of the same height (without slipcases though). Some of those CD issues that look like a book with the CDs in a slot on the inside covers did not fit properly so one just has to experiment. Just don't crowd each drawer too much or damage may ensue. The felt linings in each drawer made said drawers a little hard to close but got easier with each try so I guess it's just a matter of the unit wearing in. The keys are a nice touch but clearly an option - have not tried them. I have this Vaultz unit stacked on top of two solid wood CD cabinets. I do not think there will be any weight associated issues with doing this but I will see. After all if the Vaultz are advertised as being stackable then I don't think there would be issues in this regard. So satisfied with this purchase so far but we'll see down the line. Feel confident though.

Nice cabinet for typical/normal sized CD storage
Bottom line: This is a good product, and I'd buy it again. I wanted to buy a CD storage cabinet that was sturdy, functional, and fit my needs with the amount of storage available. First, I tried one of the others offered on Amazon. When that one arrived, it was a poorly made wooden product, from China. That one had been quickly stained, and felt like it would easily break...etc, so I sent it back. The Vaultz, on the other hand, is very solid. It's only for CDs...and it has velcro dividers that work pretty well in separating sections. It quickly gave me the opportunity to organize my CD's, and the case is nice to look at. I'd recommend to other potential buyers to make sure that you know what space you're dedicating this cabinet for. Also, be aware that the Vaultz cabinet is dedicated to "typical" sized CD's....so you might not be able to fit some of the unique or special edition CD's that come in atypical sizes. I would add that there are plenty of inferior cabinet and/or storage selections to choose from on the Internet. For me, this cabinet perfectly fit my needs.

Amazing Solution
This is a great product for a great price. I have found that the drawers hold more along the lines of 150 dvd's or cd's, any more than 50 per section (3 sections per drawer) make it very difficult to take them in and out and to see the tabs. The drawers are solid, and are very easy to open and close - not sure how one person that wrote a review claimed otherwise, had to be a defective unit or defective consumer (probably the latter). The only drawback is that you DO have to purchase your own folders, as this product only comes with 6 sample folders. The folders are reasonably priced but when you need 300-350 it adds up to about $40 more. Great product, will buy again if my DVD collection gets out of hand again.

Quality went from hero to zero in 6 months...
Update: 10/11/16 The Vaultz folks reached out to me and told me that the build quality has been increased and replaced 2 of my units. I just received them and agree that the build quality is indeed better now. The drawers now fully open and close without significant resistance. The locked is higher quality and the part of the locking mechanism that's inside of the case are covered in felt like with the older units. Handles are on horizontally and the case looks pretty square. One of the two wobbles a bit (I think that one isn't quite level, will come up with some kluge to take care of that) but the other case is pretty solid. Overall this warrants increasing my rating because the build quality is now acceptable overall. Also pleased with their customer support. Original review: I'm not sure what just happened. I ordered one of these in March and it was great. Good build quality. Felt solid. And everything fit and worked like it was supposed to. Filled it up and ordered a second one which I received today... and it's terrible! The box isn't even square, the sides are crooked, and the lengths are wrong so there's a large gap between the box frame and the sliding drawer. The drawer doesn't even slide very well and it used to have felt on the inside that covered the locking mechanism so you didn't damage your discs... and that's gone too. The quality and finish of the lock also seems a lot cheaper on the second box than the first. What happened? How can a product go this bad in 6 months? I've reached out to Vault about the build quality. I'll update this review is they can provide a satisfactory explanation and conclusion to this. I was so satisfied with my first box, I'm extremely disappointed with the new one. Unbelievable!

Very sturdy
These are well-made; I bought two. They are a bit on the heavy side & I worried about the weight as I wanted to put it on my stereo cabinet. It holds up fine but it's also a well-made cabinet. This will be too heavy for cheap shelving once it's full. It looks a little bit on the industrial side, but I can't find any other pull-out CD storage cases anywhere. This is so much nicer than stacking them in boxes. Now I can easily see what I have instead of lifting and opening boxes. It's like having a whole new music collection! These also fit a lot of CDs into a small space which is great for those of us with a lot of physical media in a small space. They're not cheap but they seem like they will last and they were a good investment.

Exactly what I wanted
Perfect for organizing and storing large collection of CDs and DVDs. Well constructed, lockable if required, neat, clean and orderly. They must be doing well as I wanted to buy a second case. When I tried I was told that they were out of stock. I can get this product from another supplier than Amazon but I prefer to do business with Amazon. Please hurry to restock. :-) Will check back every couple of weeks to see if they are available Bill Hodges

Solid storage and protection.
This is a pretty solidly built cabinet, not flimsy at all though it is some kind of fiber board which would not be too difficult to break into with a screwdriver. The lock works well but I don't plan on using it. I would have preferred a simple latch or buckler so it could be simply transported by the handle without having to use the key. The big plus on this unit is that the size is designed to accommodate a CD's jewel case. You'd be surprised how many storage units are designed to only fit sleeves. It would have been nice if these were designed to stack or interlock in case I need future expansion. I use this to store software CDs for my PC so they are easy to find when I need them. I've almost filled this unit. They do make a quad unit but that would have been overkill and too large for where I'd like to put it. I've used binders with insert pages which hold a lot more and keep things organized but a lot of software comes with their serial codes affixed to the jewel case or have the kind of gatefold package that you cannot put into a page type holder. This unit is excellent for the purpose I'm using it for. Great value for the money.

Overpriced storage unit that gets the job done but won't win any beauty contests
Here's the straight talk on this: Does it work? Yup. Effectively stores tons of CD's either in jewel cases or plastic sleeves. I went with the sleeves so I could accommodate my massive music collection. Is it cheaply made? Pretty much. All the complaints I've seen are fairly accurate. The drawers don't close too well - you have to jimmy them a little bit but whatever. The fake wood is cheap looking and the vinyl covering on some parts does peel off. But the black bulletproof material is pretty good. If you intend to have this out in your living room as a display piece, you might want to consider something else. If it's gonna be tucked away on a shelf in your den or basement - it'll do the trick. Would I recommend it? I guess so. I think it's overpriced by about $20 if you ask me, but unfortunately your options are limited if you want to neatly store hundreds of CDs. I have a huge wooden CD storage rack from the 90's in my basement that I'm trying to get rid of (hey, back then it was cool to display all your CD's), so really anything was going to be better than what I have. I wish they could have made it a little better or at least dropped the price, but what can you do.

Good CD storage
Overall I like this product. It holds close to 600 of my CD’s. A great way to condense your collection by getting rid of the jewel cases that take up a lot of space. It’s surprisingly well made and solid. I liked it so much I bought 2 of them!

Me ayudó mucho
La verdad me ayudó mucho a organizar de una mejor forma mis discos y a tenerlos sin polvo, la caja es algo pesada, pero si tienes el espacio suficiente te ayudará mucho a organizar tus discos. Muchas gracias!

Quality Materials & Design
It is the first time my c.d. storage ADDS to my entertainment centre. Past storage methods looked cluttered - ugly.

Material pobre para el precio
Considerando lo que cuesta, esperaría una calidad de material mejor. Protegerá los discos pero nada protege a la caja que su puede lastimarse “fácilmente”.
