Slugs be gone....please.
So glad eco wildlife friendly slug deterrent is here. I hope my cannas this year aren't eaten to shreds. Definitely worth a try rather than using nature killing toxic chemicals that should be banned However....these didn't work at all. But I'm still not and refuse to use chemicals. My garden is becoming more eco balanced and birds and hedgehogs are eating the slugs now. This is the way forward.

Horrendous smell
I have to start with the smell, it is absolutely horrendous, I opened the bag in the house and it was unbearable. I removed any snails I could find in and around the pots and scattered it around the plants and so far so good. I am going to add the copper tape just for good measure. I don’t want to kill the snails but I also don’t want them eating all my plants so it was good to find a deterrent rather than an eliminator.

bad product no pellets/blows away in wind/disintegrates in soil/made my dog ill after ingesting some
Minus stars this product. No pellets just a large wadge of brown/black like soil with a few short hairs in it blows away in the wind, like throwing money away in the air! I deeply regret buying this product and would challenge that it is 'dog, pet, bird, child friendly' or adult even if not wearing gloves. (I wore gloves when using it). Sadly, when my back was turned, my small dog ate some of this product from a garden planter, I had put the product around plants in it. I had bought this product as it advertised dog and pet bird hedgehog friendly, but my dog has started having gastrointestinal problems. Of course, I never expected my dog to eat it. But I now wonder exactly what it means that this product is 'pet or dog friendly'. Having researched this product on the web I find it contains salt, dirt, and sand as well a sheep droppings (perhaps this could also contain worms/worm eggs at least bacteria). I fail to see how this is bird, pet, dog, child friendly if they come into contact with it, could ingest it, surely it is full of bacteria, how this safe for a child for example if they did not wash their hands after touching it? Plus sheep get wormed if from UK, so would this make the droppings poisonous? Should be a warning on the box. I am quite upset by this. And if birds eat it, would the droppings make the bird ill or worse? just because no chemicals, does not mean it is not harmful. And what about as the product had disintegrated, did it contain any mould or chemical reaction from being broken down? As to the use of the product against slugs: Sprinkled one packet only covered a small area, found the pellets had broken down to almost dust in the packet so was ineffective and so a waste of money. I assume old stock. Its not nice doing this to people who are buying and paying money in good faith. I went and bought 6 packs. Unfortunately, when a seller does this, it puts me buying off others who might be genuine. No, this is a very bad product in my experience and with the issues I have realised since receiving the product.

Stops your hostas getting eaten!
Have been searching for a while to find something that would stop all the snails and slugs from eating my hostas. Finally I came across these and they really do work. You surround your plant with them and then add water. They expand (almost like foam). Since adding around my plants I have not had any leaves eaten by slugs/snails so these have been a brilliant purchase.

Doesn't work
Well, it didn't work for me and a dahlia that was under slug attack. I applied it as instructed, it's rather dusty, so wait for a clear day with not too much wind! I think it's good that it does not contain any harmful ingredients and is environmentally friendly. Alas, it did nothing to deter the slugs and the dahlia has now expired.

It works
I’ve had a real problem over the years with snails and slugs last year. I had over 50 snails in a 20 foot garden. I had to pick them off one by one from my Clemantis plant it then started to attack, my peony and they murdered my Hosta plant I tried everything. This is fantastic pricey but it works. My garden has not look so good in years. I’m definitely gonna buy again.
